Luma 3D Capture

Ever since Lumalabs launched their ‘dreammachine’ (yet another a-dime-a-dozen AI-‘powered’ text-to-video app), the processing times for this amazing 3D scanning app have spiked. Luma has clearly and wrongly chosen the path of being another cheap AI-‘provider’ over their unique, easy-to-use 3D scanning tech. Such a shame.

The hug trend etc doesn’t work at all. I cannot create anything and when I think I will pay in hope it would work and only payment through credit card and not everyone got a credit card!!!

Wow, So grateful this is free..!! These AI’s are evolving extremely fast, this app does it all!

A great app that creates absolute masterpieces. It does take very long to shoot all the different angles. And most of the times there is a big glitch in the screen because you didn’t took enough fotos. It also takes very very long for the 3D image to load. But the results are stunning.

Works great with Vectorworks by using obj format.

Really good for object processing and not good for aerial or room processing where you will have to move around

It does work with some smaller object, but when I try to capture anything larger then 1m^3 the screen go’s black, I can still feel the vibrations from the capturing but I have to lock my phone and unlock it again to make the screen appair again just to get the error; can’t capture. Contacted apple support and it’s not a problem in my Iphone 13 pro max, it’s probably the application.

Impossible To use

tried capturing a flask just as a test, seemed to work, the box showed up, the guidelines showed up. after completing the scan i tried to upload, got the error message “failed to upload wrong format”. then ended up with three what appear to be still images of said flask in my captures, where trying to delete them does nothing

I have had a scan running for over 14 hours now and still not done. Complete unacceptable.
