Lux Lightings Reviews

Lights are awesome the app is NOT.

KmikeT on

I’ve seen a number of rock light apps and this may be the worst. Connections are bad, trying to take the lights out of any of the color modes back to just pure white is laughable. I emailed asking about it and they said they are revising the app and controller. Not sure how we will update the controller firmware but I’m hopeful it’s easy and a major improvement.

App is a dumpster fire

App is garbage!! Needs a major update to it !!! Not been happy with it when I had to switch controls boxes !! Been trash since then , roc lights work great!

App needs a major update

The lights are terrific, the app on the other hand is a huge pain to use. I don’t even change the colors on mine anymore bc the app is so finicky it’s such a huge hassle. Hopefully an update comes out soon. It needs to work like the XKGLOW app like they use to use with the older Bluetooth controllers. I’ve emailed Lux twice trying to get instructions for their app but no response. Please Lux….. update the app to make it seamless. Grouping lights together does not work, the instructions tab on the app does not work, the themes don’t work and dim all the lights to barely visible. Needs an update in a bad kind of way.

Horrific

This app is horrifically bad. The lights themselves are fantastic, but are rendered nearly useless due to this app.

Where is the update?

This app needs a lot of work. Good thing a bunch of Twitter folks are now looking for a job. Come on guys! Get your stuff together and get to work!

For the cost of the controller this app leaves much to be desired

There was mention that someone talked to Lux and they are planning an upgrade. They said the same thing a year ago when I first contacted them. I would quickly swap my controller out for another one that has a great supporting app like XKGLOW has… yes I know they made the controller for Lux but I was told that was all they were allowed to be involved with. They will not even answer questions about the controller, tells you to talk to Lux. Great lights but not an easy way to control them.

Not working

Can’t even find the Bluetooth controller.

App doesn’t work

The app doesn’t work 99% of the time but the lights are awesome. App never connects to the Bluetooth controller, very disappointing considering that I paid so much for the lights.

Terrible App, but Update Coming

Keahole Point on

United States

Will try to keep this succinct but detailed - the lights themselves are terrific. USA made and just genius in their application and build quality. Unfortunately, the App is borderline terrible, and these lights need the app to take advantage of their full potential. I have RGB lights, and the fact that it is so difficult to simply turn on all white on my three group set of eight lights is just laughable. THE GOOD NEWS…I emailed Lux and asked about the app. While their response seems to have an economy of words/details, they did say the following: we are actively addressing the problems with the app and working on an update. So that is VERY good news. When it will be forthcoming, who knows - hopefully soon. And why it takes a user to provide this information here, I don’t know. But the bottom line is that they are working on resolving the issues with the app usability, and that is potentially reason for hope with these lights.

Trash App

GI Mojo on

United States

Honestly for the cost of these lights the App to control them is trash. It will not select the correct colors, I cannot get white to work there are no options to just turn the lights on without some type of gradient or jump or flashing mode. There is no stagnant. Poorly designed at best. Maybe half the functions they do have work and they do a poor job at that. Create a theme and if you have more than six lights forget about it. Lux ask a lot of money for their light systems. The least they could do is work.
