Few updates and clunky connection to lights

iwasacloudfirst on

United States

My biggest suggestion would be to make the initial search/connection to light fixtures automatic. Why should we have to press “search for lights” and then press it again when it’s obviously what I want to do when I open the app? Also, updates more frequently than once a year would be appreciated. Thanks!

All Good

I use their Taiko and viola lights and the app has always worked well. Their lights are excellent and are supports by this app. One of the best things about their lights is that you don’t need the app to run them, they have intuitive dials and GUI’s, but the sync them or adjust them from out of reach, the app works. All good.

Powerful and Fun

I love this app. It makes working with my Luxli Timpani lights so easy. I hope they add a few more effects in future updates, but for the moment this is fantastic!

Great little app, but doesn’t work fully with cello.

I just purchased the Taiko, Timpani and Cello. I wanted to have the ability to control the hue of the lights easily with the app. I can with the Taiko and Timpani, but the hue slider is not available for the Cello. I hope the developer sees this and will add this very important feature to the Cello also!

So Great!

I love almost everything about this app, the control you have is amazing just from your phone! I do wish, however, that the screen could change from portrait to landscape (it’s annoying how you HAVE to use the app in landscape). Additionally, I wish you could have more control over the HSI. I don’t like that it’s JUST a touch screen; it makes it nearly impossible to dial the color in exactly and I can only get it close to what I want. If it could just be like the CCT or RGB modes with a slider or a way to type in the exact hue/sat/intensity that would make this app 5 starts forsure.

Vastly Improved App

The latest version of the app is fantastic. So much easier to control multiple lights. Dialing in the perfect color is vastly improved. Takes great lights and makes them even better. Thank you!!

Total Revamp!

The Composer app for the Luxli Light Orchestra system is not just a re-brand of the original Conductor app, it is a total overhaul. To put it politely the original Conductor app was seriously lacking. Yes you could control various aspects of the different lighting units (Viola, Cello, Timpani), but using any of the more powerful gel and FX features were resigned to controlling them directly from the lights themselves. The Conductor app seemed like an unnecessary add on, an after thought for a lighting system that has been ahead of the curve every step of the way. The Composer app changes all of that. Re-engineered from the ground up, using input from real filmmakers, the Composer truly unleashes the creative potential of the Orchestra system. Some of the advancements are as simple as the new UI which makes searching for what tasks you need to do intuitive instead of daunting. It’s a clean and elegant design. Also now all of the units can connect to the app at once, allowing you to control them independently or as a cohesive team, with the ability to program custom actions for each light that work in concert with one another. It’s like having a DMX control board right on your mobile device. Every advanced FX and Gel feature for your particular light can be controlled directly from the app, which cuts down on the time it would take to find, access, and tweak these options on the light itself. Anything you can program physically on the light, can be done faster and simpler using Composer. My only serious issue with the Composer app is that the iPhone version of the app is the same as the iPad version, just smaller. That means if you have bigger fingers like me, you may hit the wrong button on occasion. This is far from a deal breaker for me, and more of a personal issue. I do suggest using an iPad to control it if possible though, that way you can get even finer adjustments using the apple pencil. All and all the Composer app has turned what was at first a throwaway app, to a necessity if you are going to maximize this amazing lighting systems potential. *Slow Clap, High Five*
