Looks like app is no longer supported
To my regards this is the best IOS Dive log app available on the market - and I tried a few.
Nick, the developer was very active responding to requests and issues but since over 6 months now there is no sign of life of him. Even the forum does not allow to post new threads.
It looks very much like the app is not being supported anymore. It is still working but with new SW releases of the dive computers coming out it is likely that sooner or later it will become un-useable

Keine Verbindung zum Suunto D5
Keine Verbindung zu meinem Suunto D5. Verlorene 3 Stunden für Googeln und Ausprobieren der verschiedenen Lösungen und trotzdem ständig „Looking for a device…“.
Super App, klasse Support
Ich nutze MacDive auf dem iPhone seit fast einem Jahr und hatte nie Probleme damit. Bedienung ist einfach und intuitiv, Backup und Sync zum iPad via Dropbox ging auf Anhieb. Sehr praktisch finde ich die „Join“-Funktion, um Tauchgänge zu verschmelzen (wenn z.B. beim Computer ein kurzes Auftauchen für eine Aufteilung des Tauchgangs gesorgt hat).
Seit dem Update auf iOS 13 ließen sich die Tauchgänge von meinem Smart Air nicht mehr via BlueLink übertragen. Der Support hat mich innerhalb von wenigen Stunden für den Beta-Test der nächsten Version eingeladen, wo alles wieder reibungslos funktioniert. So geht Support.
Da Englisch für mich kein Problem ist, gibt es hier volle 5 Sterne. Eine deutsche Übersetzung habe ich zumindest noch nicht gefunden 😉.
Perfekt
Eigentlich bin ich beim App-Kauf eher geizig, aber dieses 10 Euro haben sich gelohnt. Eine gelungene Logbuch-App, die sehr viele Daten übersichtlich aufbereitet. Der komplette Daten-Import von der Suunto-Software DM5 war via AirDrop vom Mac direkt aufs Phone war in ein paar Sekunden erledigt. Auch der Bluetooth-Import vom Suunto D5 funktioniert super, ebenso die Synchronisation via Dropbox - auch wenn eine Lösung mit eigenem MacDive-Account natürlich noch komfortabler wäre. GPS-Tracking klappt und belastet den Akku gar nicht so doll. Insgesamt so überzeugend, dass ich mich jetzt endgültig vom Papier-Logbuch verabschieden werde.
One of the best, still some room for improvement
One of the best dive log apps for Mac/iOS, especially on Mac it’s just stellar!
Couple of improvement suggestions:
- Improve dive site listing (on Mac) to work similar dive listing (context menu to edit, edit dialog with previous/next buttons, configurable columns)
- Allow multiple picture to be added to a dive site (e.g. multiple maps/drawings)
- Allow to show dive site picture(s) full screen on iOS. Just the thumbnail is pretty useless right now.
- Have a Master toggle to filter everything according to the currently selected diver. When having dives for multiple rivers in the app, clicking e.g. a tag or a dive site will show all dives of all divers with that tag/at that site, but most of the time you just wanna your own. Of course you can create 100 smart lists as a workaround, but a master toggle that hides other divers’ dives in all lists and statistics application wide would be nice.
- Import ppO2 data from OSTC dive computers.
Die beste ihrer Art
Ich habe so ziemlich alle für iOS verfügbaren Logbücher ausprobiert und werde bei MacDive bleiben.
Der Funktionsumfang ist vergleichbar mit dem der MacOSX App und übertrifft diesen in einigen Belangen (Critters). Benutzung ist einfach, das Design ansprechend. Besonders wichtig ist mir die 2-Wege-Synchronisation mit der Desktop-App. Diese funktioniert bislang absolut reibungslos, auch mit Bildern.
Perfect extension to Mac Dive
Just finished loading yesterday's dives to mac. Sync to iPhone works perfectly. Managed one dive with gps recording activated, also synced perfectly. Although gps record does drain the battery somewhat. The only minus point is that the sync data can only be stored in Dropbox. It would be nice for the option to store on Apple cloud or a private NAS storage. Apart from that a 5 star app, easy to use and does what it's supposed to. 👌
