Magnus Trainer Reviews

Good but would like timing options

jmc123def on

Australia

This is very well structured and the lessons are very clear. Overall a really good app. However, I don’t like the timing restrictions on many of the exercises. I’m an older person and can do these perfectly well but keep running out of time which is irritating. An option to have extra time or no timing to exercises would be great. In the end I want to understand chess better not beat speed tests. Thanks!

Great education and got me into chess

lay1111111111000 on

This is such a good app because it explains you how to play chess in a simple way. Now i love chess. Also if your parents say you got to do something educating then you can play this because it is fun and you learn things so you should definitely get this app

Great app I’m learning so much

gravityninja on

Australia

I’ve been playing chess for 30 years and this has taught me so much about strategy and elevating my control of the board. I have a paid subscription and it is money well spent.

Great App

So happy with this app very good exercises that help to improve your chess game. Highly recommend downloading this app if you want to improve your chess.

Riddled with errors

sum ded gie on

Australia

Not a bad tool when it works properly. Very frustrating with some of the puzzles having multiple solutions, but only accepting one as correct. They also have a deal claiming to be 25% off which is actually only 15% off. ($84.99 down from $99.99)

GREAT!!!

Kumail2006 on

Australia

This app is really amazing. I used this for over a week and have been playing since, in fact, I’m way better than my friend now. Love this app, keep up the great work. :)

Finally! A good learning app

Jordan Doust on

Australia

This is an amazing app to learn to play chess, and it’s so well done that it makes me wonder why I would want to learn any other way. Definitely agree this isn’t a free app but the subscription is definitely worth the outcome.

Great app

Greatgadget on

Australia

It trains you by teaching and you even can play games.

Stupid games

Jim Grenner on

Australia

The content is really good, like that it’s not patronisingly easy but you have to play these stupid timed games to enjoy the good puzzles. I want to learn challenging tactics not pretend I’m picking up sea shells. And you have to complete them to progress. I’d stick to something else especially for ludicrous subscription price.

Pretty Good

Irishleemurray on

Australia

I thought this app was pretty well made. It increases in difficulty the older “Magnus” gets and is overall what I think would be quite accurate. The only thing about this app that wasn’t so good was that there seemed to be a glitch where when he is 29 I am able to beat him and I’m no chess genius. Overall though, it’s pretty good.
