Mammoth: for Mastodon

I really want to like this app. The UI is easily the best out of the iOS Mastodon clients I’ve tried so far, but the problem lies in functionality. As of August 2023, it is unable to view posts from other federated platforms (Misskey, Pleroma, etc.). As a result I can’t recommend this app.

No ads. No trackers selling my data and slowing my connection. Beautiful UI. Easy to set up: the app defaults to its own server (which is fair and makes sense) and lets you choose one if you know what you want. There are some minor bugs. Like interaction sounds pausing my Spotify and lack of hi-res images when pinch-zooming. Overall, it’s my favorite Mastodon client rn and most used social media app.

Totally, I like it that much.

While I don't think the app is that bad right now, the UI in 1.5.2 and earlier was so much better than what we have now. It was an original design but now it just feels like every other Mastodon client.

Been using ICECUBES, but the lack of easy GIF addition to posts is frustrating. This has GIFs and a very Twitter like feel to it. Honestly, first impression are that I may have found my new favourite Mastodon app.

This app is just an awful mastodon experience. I’m uninstalling it and will just use the web version on my ipad instead.

Is seriously awesome. I like the “for you” page. However, you should make it clearer that when signing up, you don’t need to choose an instance from the list, as I (and judging by the reviews others) have gotten a bit confused as to why our instances weren’t showing up, and how to log into our instances.

only lets you pick from a certain few instances? i couldn’t even sign in to mstdn dot ca. or tech dot lgbt. other apps don’t do this…

Definitely feeling a bit of choppiness when swiping images away from full screen mode, and general page switching but all in all very impressed.

This is my favorite fediverse app on iOS. The devs don’t seem to check (or ignore) support requests within the app. It is nicely designed, but it has issues and it seems difficult to communicate those issues to their developer(s).
