Mapstr, save & share places

I used the app frequently and added many details . (600+ places) Isn‘t perfect but anyway very useful. But the new paysceme does not fit to what you get! As a long therm user I will have to find something new!

Nach dem ich über 500 Orte in meiner map habe kann ich ohne aAbo keine neuen Orte hinzufügen. No go. Somit kann ich die app in Zukunft nicht mehr nutzen.

Nice App, but the price per year is so fricking high…. It used to be completely free!!, there should be some kind of family account/discount or the possibility to by the app and not get a suscribtion! Mostly I want to please ask to put the „visits/Besuch“ point back where it was before, now its totally nowhere to be found unless you scroll aaaaall the way down AND you can‘t click under the place again to show when you‘ve been… (there was a small arrow and it was really intuitive). please reset it the way it was before!!! 🙏🏼😅

As a long-time user of the valued free app for saving and organizing favorite places, I am deeply disappointed by Mapstr's questionable step of introducing a mandatory subscription model that presents existing users like myself with a fait accompli. The Breach of Trust What particularly angers me is that loyal users like myself, who have made the app valuable through our data and active usage, are now practically forced to subscribe to an overpriced plan to maintain access to our own carefully curated data. This is not only problematic from a user perspective but also ethically highly questionable. The Pricing Policy The chosen monetization strategy appears particularly short-sighted to me: - There is no transition arrangement for existing users - There is no option for a one-time purchase at a fair price - The subscription fees are overpriced without corresponding added value - There is no basic functionality remaining in the free version The Missed Alternatives In my opinion, Mapstr had several user-friendly alternatives available: 1. A grandfathering system for existing users 2. An affordable one-time payment for basic functions 3. A tiered model with reasonable core functionality 4. Premium features as optional upgrades Conclusion As a loyal user, I feel betrayed by Mapstr. The abrupt forced transition to an expensive subscription model is a prime example of how to lose the trust of your most dedicated customers. I hope other app developers learn from this negative example and understand: Fair monetization means respecting users and offering them realistic options. The current strategy will likely drive many users to search for alternatives - of which there are now several. In doing so, Mapstr risks not only its good reputation but also its hard-earned market position. Dies stellt mich und andere Bestandsnutzer vor vollendete Tatsachen. Der Vertrauensbruch Was mich besonders erzürnt: Ich und andere treue Nutzer, die die App mit unseren Daten und unserer aktiven Nutzung erst wertvoll gemacht haben, werden nun praktisch gezwungen, ein überteueres Abo abzuschließen, um weiterhin Zugriff auf unsere eigenen, mühsam gepflegten Daten zu behalten. Sorry, aber plötzlich kann ich nach 300 gespeicherten Orten die App nicht mehr nutzen ohne Premium-Bezahl-Abo (habe 400+). Basic Funktionen im Nachgang hinter einer Paywall verstecken ist unterste Schublade. Werde meine Orte exportieren und in google Maps importieren. So verliert man Nutzer effektiv.

Adding places has been limited to 300 in the free version which you will reach in no time if travelling frequently. Better go for Google Maps if this is all you want to do. Super disappointed by this change, have been a fan of Mapstr for years, but not willing to pay for the absolute basics.

Schließe mich der Kritik an. Super App, nur muss man ab 300 Locations ins Abo wechseln. So konnte ich plötzlich keine Orte mehr speichern. Bezahlt hätte ich auch, klar, eine App muss sich auch tragen, aber 60-70€ pro Jahr (!!!) finde ich inakzeptabel. 10-20€ wären ja ok gewesen. Also bemühe ich nun eben Google Maps. Sehr schade!

From free to 56 euros a year once you have 300 places stored. Quite a jump don’t you think? Greedy. No thanks.

Bisher die meist genutzte App auf meinem iPhone. Für jeden Urlaub unverzichtbar. Nun gibt es ein teures Abo-Model, welches mir persönlich keine Vorteile bringt. Das war es dann wohl - Wieder ein App die nun Profit machen möchte.
