Maui Bus

You can no longer tap on a stop to get an estimate of when the bus will arrive. When viewing the route, there is a thing at the bottom that you can switch from inbound to outbound, but it doesn’t change the map at all. If you try hard, you can sometimes swipe up on that to get it to expose time estimates for each stop, but that is difficult to get to appear and then difficult to scroll, and even then, there is nothing to highlight the stop you are at or near, so you have to read through the whole list to try to find it (not that easy if you aren’t familiar with Hawaiian words). The old version had some problems too, but was better than this in many ways.

Aside from not loading at all every now and again, the app has been completely overhauled and is a massive pain to use. One star, not worth downloading now.

I like the old last app was hopping that they will put it back. This one the bus tracker is not moving.

App doesn’t even work anymore. Nothing loads.

I used this app a couple years ago and it did everything in the description — tracking running buses, planning your trip, making sure you know where your bus is at all times. But not anymore. Today I downloaded it to plan my trip and it did so. I arrived at my stop 15 minutes early, just in case, and waited. And waited. And waited. I finally checked to see where the bus was and it said it had arrived at my stop and departed 18 minutes ago. But no bus had come along this 2-lane road in over 30 minutes. The app said it could not predict when another bus would come. So I walked back to my house, got a car and headed down the hill to get to the car repair shop and pay for my repair and get my keys before it closed. As I headed out onto Makawao Ave., the Upcountry bus had just arrived, 45 minutes late. In the end, I had to leave my repaired car in their unsecured parking lot overnight as I could not drive both cars home. In the old app you could see the bus moving along the map. While that feature is still talked up in the description, it no longer exists.
