Maunika's Indian Recipes Reviews

Easy search function

Loving the refresh, especially the search function which is so much easier to use.

Excellent recipes but needs a lot more wotk

The recipes are excellent, but would benefit from some proof-reading. The app’s functionality leaves a great deal to be desired. I hoped when a new version was released recently the shortcomings might be addressed but no. The ability to create menus, add recipes to a calendar, create shopping lists and make recipe sharing more straightforward are vital in an app in 2022

I have had this app since it first came out and I love it!! Easy to follow recipes. I don’t understand the problem when a new recipe is added to pay for it. You just don’t pay if you don’t want the recipe. I also have Maunika’s books which are also excellent.

Good food on bad and money hungry app

Really really like recipes but can’t agree with the app. For starter - nearly half of the recipes are “App Exclusive” meaning they are there but you can’t see them and to see them you need to pay bit extra. I mean why this predatory? Also if you liked some recipes, there is a save button to come back later but it’s impossible to confirm if you placed that button correctly or not. Else, like me scroll through entire app to find yours. And there is her website and most recipes are there FREE. Again why and with what logic?

Poor app!

nige-surtees on

Great recipes but poor app experience. Basic functions are missing and some of what is there doesn’t behave as it should. The save function doesn’t work if there is a share button by it’s side. Very frustrating. No search facility either.

Pretty good

I was a bit nervous about purchasing with all the negative reviews - but for £3.49 I think it is excellent value. Recipes are a change from my usual Madhur Jeffrey / Anjum Anand / net searches and so far all have had good feedback from family. Very clear instructions with no unobtainable ingredients! Haven’t had any issues with app so far, just wish I could bookmark but haven’t really tried to see if there’s a facility for that.

Great recipes, rubbish app

Seriously basic app. It’s little more than a list of recipes. Why on earth isn’t there a favourite function? Definitely not worth the money.

Recipes are great, app is TERRIBLE

I use the app frequently for the recipes but I cannot stand the app. No favourites function, no search function, poor scrolling interface. Considering we paid for the app, this is has awful user experience and I really hope there is some work being done to fix this. Also, my partner and I have the Apple family sharing but can’t download the app on two devices? Why is that?

Clunky, dial up vibes

FunTali19 on

Some of the recipes I’ve tried are good BUT so many issues with this app… haven’t experienced anything like it. It’s not user friendly, literally waiting for a page to load, the recipe saving function works sporadically and it freezes. Needs investment and a serious upgrade. I have a number of food apps and this is the worst hands now. In need of an upgrade ASAP.

Lots of recipes cost extra

KeyZillah on

Disappointed to find out that many recipes aren’t included in the £3.99 initial cost and that they are an extra 0.79p each.
