OK if you’re on flat land
However, if the object isn’t on the same level you stand on, it won’t be accurate Measuring tree heights is impossible with rolling or hilly terrain, even trees on a boulevard. Or houses. So it really only works well in very flat cities.
Wrong
Trying to measure the height of a power line pole. Didn’t work at all. Completely worthless.

Used it to get heights of trees , gets super accurate heights. It won’t work as well if you don’t focus the image .
Wildly fluctuating readings
Same tree shows 80-350 feet during repeated measurements. 40’ telephone shows 30-300’. There certainly are correct measurements in the various attempts but no way to tell which are correct unless you already know the actual height
