Med Gas Log Reviews

Does what is needed

MaplesonF on

Australia

I have found this to be a universally excellent log book, giving good summaries (as per RCoA requirements) and easily able to create back ups. The operations list is limited, but frankly as an anaesthetist “neck dissection” covers all that is really needed for my purposes - do I actually need to know it was a partial glossectomy and mandibulectomy with fibula flap recon? Not really, no. But I can record awake FOI and brachial plexus blocks etc, and it’s all very quick and easy. I recommend this logbook to others.

Not consistent, playing up lately

GulAza on

Been using this app for over a year, it’s playing up recently. Every time i look at the logbook to check if i entered a case, it automatically adds the last case that i added. I then Tried to delete the erroneous duplicates, it keeps restoring them back in to the list of cases. I’m now worried that i might have to go through all previous entries to make sure there aren’t unwanted cases that the logbook automatically added without my awareness. Not happy with the app.

Great app, shame it won’t let me subscribe

Free trial has ended, but the subscribe through iTunes is a stumbling block. The link directs you to a page of text only and no way to actually subscribe

The best app for logbook

Ameehann on

I have been using it for almost 4 years. Works perfectly. Easy and simple - that’s what we need! No problem with interface. And on top of that, great supportive customer service. Well done!

Best Log Book App I’ve Used

Reza's MacBook Pro on

United Kingdom

Definitely the best anaesthetic log app I’ve used... having previously used both the Royal College app and iGasLog. It’s incredibly user friendly which means I can update cases within seconds (great for busy lists!) and everything is stored on the cloud so if my phone crashes, breaks, is lost or stollen, all my data is easily retrieved. Having previously lost data using iGasLog, this is certainly a huge plus. Also, the RCoA reports and tables are great for ARCPs and Appraisals. All in all, the best log book app out there.

Excellent support

Easy and quick to use, good logbook, good support via email from developers. Recommended!

Great app, even better back up

Fitter on

United Kingdom

I have been using this app since the early stages and find it very simple and reliable. The user interface is simple and well designed. It defaults to a simple set of data that means you don't spend your time reinserting the same routine stuff all the time. The back up team are brilliant and have gone 'above and beyond' when it comes to sorting minor problems and giving advice. For those who went through the iGaslog problem - this is the app you want. It's as good as iGaslog in many areas and better in others. Get it!

Still a long way to go

drdjw on

Case entry is quick and the server sync is great but the app is not easy on the eye or easy to read. Why on earth stick with a two-tone colour scheme when there are millions available on a smartphone display. Having to interpret symbols rather than quickly look at full colour icons when scrolling through cases is a pain. Also, I can’t start using this app until I can import my iGasLog (I’m still running this on an old iPod touch) and am not tempted to change until they update to a full colour version.

Best app for UK anaesthetic/ICM trainees

MattThermals on

I am hugely impressed by this app. Even though it is still under development, it appears particularly well thought out. Data entry is quick and I really like that you can log regional, ICM, retrievals and clinics. I am also reassured that another 'igaslog' situation will be avoided in future, as the data is backed up in a sensible format. The reports are definitely suitable for ARCPs etc. Highly recommended.

User friendly and quick to enter cases.

Bevir on

I have finally taken the plunge and finished with iGasLog and have embraced Med Gas Log. I wish I'd done it sooner. Med Gas Log is user friendly and allows cases to be added with incredible speed. Very pleased indeed. This is, and will continue to be, my log of choice. Keep up the good work.
