Description
Mellowsound is an emulation of a legendary instrument, a keyboard sampler from the 60s used by many famous artists like the Beatles, King Crimson, Radiohead and many others, this mythic instrument is called The Mellotron. You probably never heard his name but the melodies created with it are mythical.
As we have the chance to own a Mellotron M400, we wanted to share with you this unique sound, so we sampled all the notes from our beloved Mellotron, one by one, for all the instruments tapes.
With Mellowsound, you will be able to play Mellotron everywhere, with professional audio quality (16bit/44Khz).
It’s now like have a vintage orchestra in your pocket!
In the same spirit, we designed a smooth and photo-realistic user-interface as an homage to our dear Mellotron.
The free version include 3 instruments: Flute, Clarinet and Sax.
Get the « Full Version » IAP to get all the 18 instruments, including : Electric guitar, Vibraphone, Sad Strings, Piano, Choirs, and more (FX & Live Recording).

Awkward gaps
I love the sound on this instrument, but the downside is if the divider between the white keys is touched even slightly, it triggers the sharps or flats above them, quite a lot. In fact playing on a glass screen (iPad or iPhone) makes it useless, as it’s difficult not to get that gap avoidance perfected. I’m a 6’3” keyboard player with big hands. This results is the odd randomised note when playing, enough to ruin the playing experience. This bug prevents me from buying the upgrade version. I’ve been playing (full sized) synths for over 40 years without issues, except with this app. All other synth apps I have on my devices. don’t do this. Hence two stars.

This is a lovely app, and a lot more versatile than it might seem on the surface. Great sounding mellotron (and other) patches, and now the ability to save combinations of sounds and settings as user patches. This means I can now use this as part of my live rig, working through AUM. Perfect ! Just a word about the Developer too. I raised the issue of user preset saves a while back and the result is......this. Very responsive. Great customer service. Thanks

Downloaded as I love 70s mellotron vibes. Opened it and it allowed me to play three notes before immediately crashing. Tried again but same scenario repeatedly. Deleted and re-download. Same thing. My iPad Pro is 220 model and up to date iOS. Absolute garbage. Sadly.

Just installed the update to find the new Tube Amp effect which adds great new tonal variety to one of my favourite synth/keyboards apps. This thing oozes character and vintage vibe. A secret sonic weapon from these great French developers.

Spent the money on in app purchase last night but nothing so reinstall the app today n still nothing so no good

I can't put the update on now because it's only for iOS 12.2 and I am on 12.1.4 and do not want to update Why do you need iOS 12.2 now to update it.?
