MemLife: Journal & Memoir

I started to write my life story several months ago on Pages and soon afterwards realised that, despite the many benefits of Pages, it didn’t provide me with the flexibility I needed. I therefore began to look for an app that would help me record my memories and, at the same time, provide a means of organising these memories into a semblance of order. Some of the apps I discovered might have done the job for me but many were very superficial and didn’t always focus on getting the ‘mechanics’ of the requirement right. MemLife is simply excellent. I’m now able to continue writing my story chronologically, separated by chapters of my choice. Importantly, whenever I recall an event or memory not already covered, I can jot it down immediately and connect this to the relevant chapter. Furthermore, MemLife uses iOS, iPadOS or MacOS to allow their inbuilt microphones to dictate entries should this be of value to the user. Images can also be uploaded to MemLife. MemLife can also share entries with others, if required and generate a .pdf file. It’s a great app…..

I really like the idea behind this app. I can see many people using it as it’s really unique and easy to use. I’d suggest the developer giving it more effort to make it snappier and pleasure to use. There’s always room for improvements. Best of luck!

PLEASE READ BEFORE BUYING!!! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!! I purchased this app because it looks like exactly what I was looking for. When I first opened the app it asks you to either "log in" to an account or "create" an account. Since I had never used the app before I chose to create an account. I put in my email address like it asked and set a password like it asked and hit the "Create Account" button. THE APP FROZE!!!! I've tried it 5 or 6 times and it freezes every time. I've tried resetting my iPhone (still no luck) and tried doing it on my iPad with no luck. Even if this problem gets resolved it will be very difficult to really trust it with my "life history" DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!

Great app! I love how you can journal and upload photos. The only thing that I would change is being able to edit the dates later and have them go in chronological order. If you make an edit it shows at the end of your timeline, no drag into place or recognition. If I am doing something incorrectly, please let me know as I love this app and its sharing capability!

I understand this a new app, so I'll be gentle. I love the concept as I had been looking for something with a timeline and ability to record the memoirs of my life for my children to pass down. It could still use some work though. I'd like to be able to turn the orientation horizontal so I could use it with the keyboard on the iPad Pro. I'd also like to be able to see everything added on a sideways scrolling timeline, life events and life stages. Another idea would be to have an area to add parents and grandparents names and dates of births and deaths, as these people are typically important to your life. It's a great app, I'll keep using it and we'll see where it goes in the future. Keep up the good work.
