An Outlook to provide the user with a brief overview of the expected weather for any location in the country for the next 7 days.
Geolocated forecast. The app utilises the GPS functionality of your mobile device to provide a 7 day detailed forecast for your exact location. The user can scroll the detailed forecast and examine the forecast for expected warnings, weather, temperature, wind and rainfall amounts.
The latest weather observations near your location.
The National and Regional Forecast for Today and Tomorrow as well as the Outlook for the country for the next 5 days. These include animated maps which display the forecast weather, temperature and winds.
The Marine Section includes the Sea Area Forecast for the next 24 hours.
The latest reports from around the coast in the Coastal Reports.
The Sea Crossings Forecast which gives the expected state of the sea for the next 24 hours for 5 routes from Ireland.
The Inland Lakes forecast, which provides the expected wind, weather and visibility for 6 inland lakes.
The Farming Commentary which provides information on rain, temperature, sunshine amounts, drying conditions, spraying and field conditions for the past and the coming week.
This app is designed to work on iOS 10 and higher.

the Irish way
weather predictions are way way out the capability of met éireann and this useless app. you’re better off relying on UK based observatories of further afield, these lads are in the pub, busy working out the next ballot for increased wages.
Very Slow
The lag between opening the app and data loading is very irritating. They need to seriously improve server response time. It’s a shame, because otherwise it’s a great app.
Just… ugly
The app is fairly precise but lads it’s so ugly and outdated I barely ever use it. The design reminds me of apps 20 years ago, not user friendly, not very functional and just horrible to look at.
Useless
Looking at rain out my window, yet Met says 0 chance of rain. Their building has no windows, seriously.
Very Inaccurate
Fails to forecast even the most obvious weather systems. Completely unreliable.
Accurate but flawed
Surprisingly this is now the most accurate weather app in Ireland (previously Dark Sky) Shame there is no accommodating widgets, watch complications or notifications for weather alerts. It’s a real pain to have to open the app a number of times a day to check for rain.
Useless
Participation 5% but heavy rain outside.
It a pity it doesn’t cover all Ireland weather
15/12/23 : This would be a good app if it would allow the user to check weather at other locations around Ireland besides where they live. This is supposed to be a possibility. Unfortunately the magnifying search option only occasionally works. It’s difficult to plan outdoor adventures around the country when this national weather app won’t share the weather there. Essentially users must have other apps to find the weather outside of they’re current location as the met Eireann app only searches sometimes. When the app was first realeased the search worked. Usually apps become more functional as they’re developed over the years.
No Alerts!!!
There is a RED weather alert in effect for half the country tonight, guess what? No alerts from the National weather service App!!!
