Will change my rating after this issue is fixed as usually this all is amazing. Every time I search for a band I have to hit retry multiple times until it finally allows the search to go through.

Great App - One Glaring Bug

Stanley Barker on

As a metalhead and information connoisseur, this app has proved more than helpful for me as a listener and fan. I’ve discovered many bands and the app has helped me to organize confusing discographies of many bands. However, for the last few months, I’ve repeatedly had to refresh pages as many as four times just to even get them to open. If this could be fixed I’d have no problems with the app.

Works great! When it works…

I love this website, and the app works great as a free front end. However, something broke in the app and now you get a message “request failed with status code 429.” when trying to search or follow any links. I tried to report a problem but that didn’t work, and the developer site link is broken. It’s a bummer because when it works, this is a great app. It’s also free, so I don’t expect any fix anytime soon, but thought it was worth reporting just in case someone could fix it.

Excellent source, faulty app

Metal Archives is great, but this app, at least for Apple, is wishy-washy at best. Have to wait at least ten to fifteen seconds before searching literally anything unless you want to be hit with a Request Failed message and an error code. Pretty disappointing, honestly.

App is broken

Currently doesn’t work, search is completely broken

Still love the app, but…

Seems like the most recent update from 9 months ago broke the app (at least for me). More times than not when I search and select a band I’m trying to look into I get a “Request failed with status code 429” message, and sometimes have to refresh the selection over ten times to get the result to pop up. Also, if you end up going down a rabbit hole in any of the tabs, and you need to back track to the main screen (for example the search tab) you have to go back through all the bands/artists you clicked on before being able to search for another band. Would be great to fix that for ease of use

We need a new Update badly

The new UI is atrocious. I constantly get errors nonstop this app is basically useless at this point.

App is trash and borderline unusable nothing but errors trying to search anything

Great for awhile…

I’ve had this app for over a year, and it is always been fairly reliable. However, the search function has inexplicably stopped working. Whenever I try to search for an album or artist, I get a message that says, “Request failed with status code 429.” I’ve tried deleting and downloading the app again, but keep getting the same result. does anyone know how to fix this? Thank you.
