Mind Window Reviews

Repetitive and inaccurate statistics

Hg GH jfg on

I did a study with this app for 10 days and it was extremely uninteresting because every single time it asked for input, the questions were the same. the study was finished, the statistics shown in my app were not at all accurate

Running into major error

melshi223 on

United States

I really like the concept of this app and have done a couple of dozen check ins now, but the one big error that I’m running into is that I can’t view my stats. Every time I click on the tab, it tells me there’s a server error and the app can’t load the check in data from the server. That’s basically the main reason for using this app at all, and I don’t see a point in continuing using it if I keep running into this problem.

Needs a pause feature, or I'm gonna kill my phone

Low Tech Grandma on

United States

I'm happy to help research, but there needs to be a way to pause the alerts for a while. My husband is in the final stages of Alzheimer's and I'm just sitting by his bed thinking morbid thoughts and trying not to think them. The notifications, even if I don't open them, make me think. When I do respond, I don't think my thoughts are representative enough of a functioning human to be helpful, and my comments end up being a barrage of anger directed at the app for making me think and for taking my thoughts in odd directions. (Is waiting for my husband to die a goal? If I accidentally feel positive for a moment, am I an evil person?) If I delete the app, I will never reinstall it because it will be a reminder of all this, so I'm trying not to delete it. Really need to have a pause button.

Problem with receiving notifications.

Upswept1 on

In general, I find this app easy to use and sort of interesting. I am hard of hearing however, and despite using hearing aids, often miss notifications. Adding an option for vibrations and repeated sound notifications would help. I couldn’t find a place to report this on the website. As an addendum, I realized as I sat in a quiet place this morning with my phone in my pocket, that there is a very brief vibration associated with the notification. If I were doing anything the least bit active, however, I doubt that I’d notice it.

Mind Window review

Mind Window is a survey-type interface that collects information regarding your emotions and your mental health several times throughout the day. The app is fairly intuitive. However, it took me several sessions to understand what some of the questions were intended to ask. I answer the questions as honestly as possible within my memory range. I hope the information being gathered is helpful to the scientists working on this project.

Insightful!

I have learned a lot about my personal patterns of thought while using this app! It’s also cool to know that my entries are helping further psychological research at the University of Arizona. The notifications come in random/unpredictable intervals which is nice: it catches me during all kinds of different tasks and provides an opportunity to be aware of my thoughts in real time (rather than reflecting on them when it’s “convenient”, or at the end of the day, for example). Very smooth interface, no bugs.

Excellent Design

The Mind Window app is very well designed. Remembering the username and password made frequent access streamlined and simple. The addition of features like trophies based on user activity and the ability to customize visuals were both appreciated.

Awesome app for mental health tracking

I downloaded this app for a psychology experiment required in one of my classes and didn’t think much of it. But when I started using it I realized it was a great place to write down my thoughts and think about how I was feeling. I’d recommend a download!

Psychology Study App

Application ran smooth and was easy to use. Felt a little repetitive but I understand the purpose of that. Overall, a good app.

Too intensive

CFireFun on

United States

If I had nothing better to do than sit with my phone in my hand waiting for a notification, this would be a great app. However, I have lots of things to do, and now this isn’t one of them.
