…however I can tell that y’all clearly made this game out of the love for the sport, but I noticed that the last update was 9 months ago and most of the reviews were written from the last year, so I’m hoping that y’all didn’t abandon development of this game because I’ve had a few suggestions to improve the game.
First, I wanted to suggest an expansion of fighting styles because almost every fighter seems the same because there are only 4 classes so i wanted to suggest adding “Judo” and “Muay Thai”. Some moves from Judo are in the “BJJ” class and some moves from Muay Thai are in the “Karate” class, so if there’s an expansion of classes more moves can be added and classes wouldn’t have moves from other Martial arts included in them.
Second, I wanted to suggest more submissions, the game gets kind of boring for submission users when there’s only 4 different submissions to use.
Wrestling- “Arm Triangle”, “Twister”, “Chin Lock”, and “Ankle Lock”
BJJ- “Anaconda”, Darce Choke”, “Kimura”, “Americana” “Gogoplata”, “Omoplata”, “Heel Hook”, “Knee bar”
Third, I wanted to suggest more positions such as a “Standing Clinch” position under the Karate (or Muay Thai) class, and a “Side Control” or a “Sprawl” or a “Flattened Back Mount” position under wrestling or even a “Kesa-gatame” for the BJJ (or Judo) class, and buffs for submissions that fit with these positions as well as restrictions for submissions that don’t. and an idea for the “Standing Clinch” position is buff to knee and elbow strikes and flying submissions such as “Arm Bars” or “Triangles”.
I know that most of this won’t happen considering how small development is but I just wanted to throw in some suggestions that can probably help the game a little, this was kind of my version of a wish list for this game, Im hoping y’all even read this to be honest considering how long I made it.
Great Game, needs improvement
Seems to be pay to win as of right now as I’ve had 5-6 guys and hundreds of fights yet every guy on the leaderboards is way higher than i am in every skill. Legit a level 10 everything fighting level 15+ average. Also there’s no reason for me to get a submission result from a takedown. Don’t understand that.
That being said, there’s a lot of love clearly in the design and idea of the game. Worth playing but I hope it’s improved in some time.
Awful training
The training and leveling up skill is stupid and doesn’t make sense. Truly awful.
I’ve been looking for a game like this.
This game has cured most of my boredom. I love turn based games and this one shows what’s happening as you place your cards on the table.
Great, Fresh Take on Fighting Games
This game is clearly a labor of love. The graphics and peripheral aspects of the game might be a little unpolished, but the core design is excellent and original. The short time to choose an action makes the simultaneous action selection mechanic feel like a real time game. The variety of moves and variety of (gamified but realistic) effects also makes this feel like a real martial arts game and gives additional depth to the game.
My only real critiques are (1) that it can be hard to read the cards quickly on a small screen and (2) having both fighters look identical can be confusing.
If you like MMA or interesting game design generally, I'd really recommend this game.
Impressive strategy game...
... in a fundamentally tactical sport. Very interesting. Looking forward to seeing how the game will evolve.
Love it!!!
And the game doesn’t push you to buy stuff, just play with the free stuff!!!
Great game
Nice game. Lots of moves available to the player.
Great Game
Downloaded the game two days ago and I am already addicted. Fun premise, smooth interface and most importantly no pay to win!
