I can’t load database.
Can’t award zero stars, so 1 will have to do. The developer offers no link to support the product, other than basic manual. After upgrade of iOS to 18.1, MobiDB 11.02 : 1) crashes on any try to Sync OR disconnect from cloud. 2) design updates do not save Stuck with what once worked, and developer who is completely unresponsive. Look for an alternative!
I have been using MobiDB for years now with no issues. Today I tried to sync my dbs and the app immediately crashes with no info. I am running on an iPad with iOS 18.1 and an iPhone 15 pro with ios 17 something. It crashes the same on both devices. I tried to find contact info in the app and the website to no avail. Thus a bug report as a review. The app says I have 16 days left of premium. Please advise or fix.
Nested tables work. I can set up a nice template for printing. Good solution. Would give five stars for faster cloud synch, especially photos and more modern look. Sync function takes forever for larger files. And it doesn’t take much to make a large file. My concern is that it has not been updated in two years, so the developer is not investing in this product anymore, and it might make itself open to security attacks. I am now using Memento. Which I really like. It does not have nested tables, which would be a plus. But it seems to be a bit more modern and works flawlessly on my PC, my iPhone, and my iPad.
Looks like another good app is going down. No updates for two years. 😞
I really wanted to like this particular app, but I had my hesitations upon seeing that the latest update occurred 2 years ago. That’s usually NOT a very good sign, especially when considering that there were 4 updates the year before development went dark and an additional 8 updates the year before that! I still figured that it had just under 4 stars, so (a) it must be current enough to not be “broken,” and (b) the developer’s website says that it’s also compatible with Windows and Android too! I was almost ready to buy a license to just get the “pro” features, but saw upon logging in that 14 days are included to try it out. That said, I’m very glad that I waited! Now, the main reason I wanted this app was because there’s only two iOS apps that I know of on the App Store with this much granular control over designing both the front and backend database within the app itself, and both have some sort of builtin synchronization. Well, the other app, which I’m sure many of you could figure out which one I am talking about, actually has even better frontend capabilities, but is more limited on the synchronization as it ONLY uses iCloud for personal use. Anything more than sharing beyond your own iCloud is out of my price range. MobiDB on the other hand should allow me to use either OneDrive, Google Drive, or even Dropbox to “host” the synchronized database. You unfortunately have to manually sync it, but that wouldn’t have been too much of a problem if the synchronization had worked properly! It was clear that the third party APIs used were extremely out of date as I couldn’t get Microsoft to accept my password or any alternate login option (such as their Authenticator app). Depending on how I tried to login or retry logging in, the Microsoft option simply threw one of a handful of internal errors. Next up, Dropbox complained that the “browser was outdated” from within the app itself, and that’s not even considering that I have a one month old iPad that’s fully up to date! So, whatever browser libraries that are internal to the app must be outdated. Finally, I DID have success with Google Drive, but that’s literally ONE OUT OF THREE services that are still working with no updates in two years! I did try the database out and I did like it, but I cannot rely on or pay for a license that won’t unlock the features that I am willing to pay a premium for if only because they’re not maintained anymore! If this app is ever made current and seems like it won’t
I use it on windows, iOS, & Chromebook. Easy to program. Have been using it for a few years - keeps getting better!!
I have some reservations… but I am giving them 5 stars because they are the most powerful database app on the App Store right now. So I’d like to support them!! Thanks for what you have done. I hope we keep improving.
A lot of using this app is self evident if you just play around with it for a few minutes. The ability to easily design a form on the screen and also it’s Table view is convenient to.
