I love this app, I love org-mode. This app make my life better.
The description says that the app “can view, edit and search Emacs Org mode files” but misses the important point “which are referenced in some root index file”. If you want to view _a_ file, the app won’t help you, since it won’t see the file.
Is it possible for you to add samba to sync with nas?
Thanks for the update. Great job!
Works great!
Thanks for the update! Looks great, and capture works a lot better!
Checksum error on sync. Completely broken and non-functional. Makes me wish I were a dev so I could work on just fixing it myself; maybe in a few years!
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
This app has a lot of promise. I would love to have something that directly translates org-mode files to a mobile format that can easily be edited. The interface for files that you actually get synced is quite nice. The problem is that syncing between .org files and the MobileOrg app is cumbersome and error prone. If you forget to do it and you've edited your files, you just won't see the latest version on the app. If you edit in the app, you'll have conflicts. If this app would just work directly on .org files in a Dropbox folder it would be ideal for me. Since that isn't possible, I'm going to have to try a Markdown-based alternative.
First problem: you can't just add a .org file to the Dropbox folder and expect it to show up in the app. You have to go through a convoluted setup process using emacs on your desktop, which involves setting up special customization variables and using the very finicky "org-mobile-push" command. If you don't, the app will say there's an error, but won't explain what the error is. You also have to know how to use org-mode's "agenda" feature which isn't explained or mentioned on the website. Second problem: after I did this, the file I wanted showed up in the app's file list, but had no contents. I seem to be following the website's instructions correctly, from what I can tell. Third problem: the web site's links to the purported support forums, FAQ, and wiki are all broken.
