Is Model Inventory legit?
⚠️ The Model Inventory app has poor ratings and negative feedback. Users seem unsatisfied with its performance or features.
I’ve used the app for about a year and it has worked fine. My problem with it is that I can’t print the inventory. Or save it to anything. Well I opened the app up on my iPad, and it’s all gone. Everything is gone. I have an empty app on my iPad, and when I try to start over, I can’t see the categories I input. I don’t know what happened, and I’ll miss it, but on the iPad, it’s dead.
Update.
I tried to show someone the app and everything was gone.
No, I haven’t entered anything in it for awhile, but I occasionally looked at it because it had original information.
It’s not only empty, I can’t enter new information.
Probably because I had to sign in to do anything.
So I am assuming that they have deleted my account.
No big deal, my inventory has grown far beyond the capability of this app, especially since you can’t do anything but look at it.
You can’t save a copy on your own system, you can’t print anything, and you are at the mercy of the internet.
No internet, no access to your own data.
If you have a small amount of inventory, and don’t mind access only when you have internet, this app will probably work for you.
App is good but apparently has its limits
My entire inventory seems to have disappeared as soon as I hit 1000 items. I’m hoping this will be corrected.

?
Not sure if there was an update or something, but I lost my complete inventory list. Not worth my time to reenter everything.
Up date didn’t work
Your latest update did not fix the camera, when you take a picture and select use it shut down
v24.0.8 never loads
Updated v5.1.6 to "cloud" v24.0.8. Now just an animated circle showing "loading.." but app never loads. Running iPad with v9.3.5. Very disappointed since I no longer have access to my previously build inventory.
Didn’t work
Nice idea and could be helpful to have, but couldn’t get it to add an item and kept crashing.
It’s a POC
This is a very nice idea, but it is someone’s proof of concept, they got bored, and haven’t developed it. Not even rudimentary list management. The Swift meal demo functions better, and would be a better starting point.
Growing pains
Update 10/22/17: I use this on my iPad and iPhone. While I appreciate the fact my updates go to the Woodland Scenics cloud and are thus updated for both devices, I’ve had difficulty with the app properly sorting the inventory. That is, I elect to see just my switchers (one of the categories I created), but instead I get just the first of the three pages of inventory I have added, across all sorting categories. In addition, the app wouldn’t show me the inventory on page 2 or 3. I was starting to think this app was finally unsupported by Woodland Scenics.
But when I checked the app writeup I saw there had been several bug fixes, many in the last 30-60 days. I checked my updates in the App listing and didn’t see the inventory manager had ever been updated. I deleted and re-downloaded the app, then connected to the cloud. Now I can sort again, which for me is great. That is my chief need in using the app.
I am assuming the various updates to iOS just left this app in the dust when I didn’t get pushed updates. If you’re getting generally funky behavior, try deleting and re-downloading the app. See if that helps things to work better.
This is not a complaint, since I acknowledge that I pay nothing for a generally helpful app. After all, iOS is constantly updated and that means the app has to be adjusted as well--again, at no cost to me.
However, in the last iteration of the app, the problem with drop-down menus was fixed--and replaced by a bug which doesn't allow the camera to operate and take photos of the items inventoried.
I look forward to having that bug squashed soon. Otherwise, I am a fan of this app.
Not useable
Program crashes and you have to close the program to add any item. Using this program is tedious. An Excel spreadsheet is a better option for now. It would be nice to have a decent mobile inventory program... this isn’t it. Will be deleting it.
