Modern Community Reviews

Playing for Nothing

I was enjoying this game, until suddenly I completed all the current levels and am now expected to play for “rewards” instead of points needed to do the community projects. New levels drop on Wednesdays and are only good for maybe four hours of play, then you have to wait a whole week for more levels. I’ll be setting this aside for a few months so the levels can build up. EDIT - Why do you prevent players from accruing stars between updates? To purposely slow them down and force them to make purchases. The fact that we may have to wait for a level drop should not prevent us from accruing stars to use in that drop. I’ve seen other comments saying this game is like Home- or Gardenscapes, but they never deny players points accrual. You guys are idiots.

I used to really like it

EDIT: It's been months and the music remains gloomy and lackluster. I keep downgrading my star review because of it. Every few weeks or after a month or so I re-download this in hopes the music is back to cheerful and lively again, but it's still bad. I really can't play a game with depressing music. If they change the music someday I'll rate them higher again at that point. I used to play sometimes just because of the cute music. Now I actively don't play because of the mood-killing boring music. I hope they fix it. I was pretty into this game at first. It has quirky characters, an entertaining and chaotic plotline, and a lot of variety. Overall pretty fun. Also the customer service team are real people who are extremely responsive and usually pretty nice. They are pretty awesome. But after several chapters where the game introduced new characters often... then came 8 endless chapters about some characters I found really boring. And the game is still in development, so it was waiting a week, playing half a chapter, and then running out of levels. FINALLY that storyline was done. But lately it's become almost unplayable, for me at least. Each new weekly update is louder and more clang-y. I have a sensory processing disorder, and the sounds that the new items make are so jangling. One new item (impossible to play, hard to beat, annoying) sounds like the ear splitting sound of shattering glass. Another new level sounds like a bucket of metal upended onto another metal surface. The sounds are grating, anxiety producing, not calming. There were the always-problems before: levels that feel like they've never met a play tester. Levels that are ordinary take an hour to beat. Levels marked "Hard" feel impossible for days sometimes. And on the levels called "Super Hard," I can usually beat them in 1-3 tries. But that was okay compared to the fun plot, cute characters, frequent updates, and fun upbeat music. The final straw for me though, was when they changed the music. It used to be cute, lively, and upbeat. Now it sounds like a cross between elevator music, easy listening jazz, and a funeral dirge. It's boring, it puts me to sleep, and I don't like listening to it. I'm going to stop playing for now until they get their game a little more enjoyable again. It's a real shame.

Awesome!

Such a good game! No adds too!

Love the game !

So this is probably one of the best games I have played in a long time! It keeps my anxiety down to a minimum and I’m always wanting to play. I am on 1178 and I completely dislike how I have to wait every so often for “star worthy” levels to come out. I also don’t think that it’s fair how the star count keeps increasing every time you want to go forward in the story line.

Levels very inconsistent

Peachesforru on

There’s so consistency to level difficulty. I’ll fly through a whole bunch and then randomly spend 30+ try’s on a level. Story line is great but on the edge of dumping the app completely because of the inconsistency in game play. I want to enjoy the game, not hate it lol.

Addicted is an understatement

Ads really impact whether or not I’ll download the game… that said the ads I’ve seen were amazing! They clearly showed the game without phony content (unlike gardenscapes, which I previously played casually prior to its ad team change) recently started playing this game, for about 2 weeks I’d say. Keeping that in mind I’m already on level 600!! I’m not a person that’s interested in ‘block matching’ type of games, but something about this one is different. I find myself spending 2-5 hours a day playing this game, it’s consuming me in the best way possible. I greatly enjoy the aspect of fixing an entire neighborhood as well as the side stories such as ‘breaking news’ and the dialogue from the landlord. But one thing that would make this game perfect would be adding some more coin based options for customization of Paige. I was happy to spend a few dollars for the special cosmetics but I would appreciate some more standardized ones in the shop. Other than that this game has me hooked. Unlike other reviews it doesn’t bother me that the game is somewhat slow paced at a certain point due to the star increase. I enjoy it because you can pile up stars for a while then feel like you are playing a completely different game once you progress in the story. Honestly one of the best games I’ve played that has kept me hooked! Thank you for making this game and please continue improving it! 💝🙇‍♀️

After party screws you with stars

Comcastzucks on

United States

I originally loved the game. Even though there is still a lot of story and fixer up things to do I have reached the end and now I am in what they call after party where I can no longer advance in the game bc they won’t give you stars for levels. After spending money on this game I now get screwed and makes me no longer what to pay for stuff or even want to play the game bc you can’t advance. Save your money and your time. I haven’t played this game for very long and already at the end of it until they create more levels.

Nothing like the ads!!!!

klsgrammer on

I’m so disappointed with this game. I got on and for five minutes. It was just a copycat of Gardenscapes. I never write reviews of games or apps, but I had to write this one because it was such a disappointment. let me clear that it’s only a disappointment because I was sold on what the ad was showing me. Which was a decision-making game that can alter lives of other sims.

Wait for a week to get to decorate for less than 12 hours!

txshedevil on

United States

I enjoy the game but waiting for a week to play for stars to “buy” to decorate is crappy. During the “earning” period the levels are very hard and then it’s over until next week. Not worth playing the rest of the week for nothing.
