Allowance & spending tracker

Description

Bomad - short for Bank of Mom and Dad - teaches kids about money by letting parents run a virtual piggy bank for their children.
It works like this:
You create a virtual bank account for them using the parent app on your phone, which they can see in the child app on their iPad, phone or other device
Then you set the app to add an allowance weekly, or when they get birthday money or cash from the tooth fairy, they give it to you and you keep the money as your own, but add it to their balance in the app
When your child wants to spend, you pay or give them cash, and deduct it in the app
So the account balance is just what you owe your child
Your child gets notifications for all transactions
They can easily see how much they have in the app, and what their money was spent on
So your child really begins to understand money
They stop nagging for stuff every time you're at the mall. They start thinking more about the future, and - with your guiding hand - they start making better spending and budgeting decisions.
Bomad has many other cool features too: kids can save for goals and get paid for doing chores. Older kids can claim expenses and request money transfers to real bank accounts so they can spend on debit cards.

Beautiful Elegant Allowance Tracker

I have tried about ten allowance tracking apps, and I gave up on all of them and eventually tracked in a spreadsheet. I also refuse to pay a monthly fee to use an app—I’m trying to teach my children responsible money practices here, and forgetting about yet another monthly subscription is irresponsible imo (Bomad is free but I would gladly pay a one-time payment). All this to say Bomad is everything: beautiful design, simple to use, accommodates reoccurring payments and debits, does not complicate and gamify children’s chores and allowances. Thank you to the lovely developer who also provides helpful tips via newsletter on using the app and creating responsible money practices for our children.

Easy Peasy

Bomad is great if you want a simple allowance and spend tracker for your children. It’s easy and quick to add or revise entries, allows for money to be split into different goals (ex. Allowance, Charity, Gifts), and has a reoccurring setting for repeat expenses like weekly allowance or monthly subscriptions. It also helps that the app works well on both iPhone and iPad. Plus the app is free!!!

Great way to keep track of allowances

I've been searching for an app to manage allowances and keep track of pocket money with my kids. It's great to have the option to get both parents involved, and it's a fantastic way for kids to learn about money through practical experience. The kids love it. There's no more guessing how much of the allowance is left, and it encourages them to set savings goals - a fantastic feature. Parents can also set a recurring payment schedule for an allowance which is super convenient. Awesome app.

Nice to be able to see my money

My dad used to track my brother and my money on a spreadsheet, but I never really understood how it worked. Now with Bomad it's much easier, and I get notifications on my iPad too.

Much better than my dad’s old spreadsheet tracker

My dad used to track allowances and money for me using a spreadsheet. The trouble was he used to take forever to update it, and it wasn’t easy for me to know what’s going on. Now I get instant notifications on my iPad whenever he adds or deducts money. Much better!

So easy to track

This Is The Best Piggy Bank App In The App Store!!!

I've been managing my kids "money-bank" on Notes on my iPhone for some time. I always knew there was likely an app or better way to manage, but for some reason I just never took the time to explore my options. My son mowed our lawn and I forgot to update his balance in Notes. He was quick to remind me last night, and so I decided enough was enough. Your app is a PERFECT solution. Simple, clean, and free. I don't need the premium features yet as my kids are still young, but I can see how we could quickly grow into the premium subscription. Thanks for your brilliant solution. It seriously takes a load off my plate!!! Keep up the good work

Most Amazing App

Wanted an app that would allow me to “pay” my kids and would allow me to transfer money in one child’s account from a main account to other things like savings, tithing, etc. This app does that and it’s so EASY to use.
