Confusing

I have no idea if I purchased a subscription... I paid$3.99 but you say first month is free. What is going on here?

Problems

Month Calendar 2 has potential, but falls short for what IMO are serious bugs. First, tapping the widget should launch the full app. What happens is the app launches then immediately freezes the splash screen. The second issue involves searching for past/future events. The search function itself does work. When you exit the search and return to the month screen one or more calendars will have disappeared. The only way to get them to display once again is to close the app and relaunch it. I did report these matters to the developer. If and when they implement fixes I will change my rating to 5 stars. For now, however, Month Calendar 2 is just not up to the competition. Too bad as I really like the layout.

Watch app is pretty basic requirement for calendar IMO.

A Flexible Comprehensive Calendar App That Works Well with VoiceOver

This is a highly accessible and easy to use app. I have been a fan for several years, and I prefer it to the native calendar app. I very much enjoy the premium calendars that are available; I have purchased many of them, and they have been quite helpful to me.

"Free" upgrade not free and not worth $4

I have used the previous version I think for a few years, and it has worked fairly well. Recently I received a message and a link for a free upgrade to new version. The link took me to a paid upgrade page where I went ahead and purchased, thinking the cost would be removed in final step, as it has sometimes worked for Apple upgrades. The charge went through like a new purchase. The $4 cost is trivial, but it's dishonest and seems to represent false advertising by the developer. For my purposes, the new program seems to work just like the old one with no improvement I've noticed except a more colorful program icon on my home screen. One defect in the old version persists in the new one: a work shift starting late evening and extending past midnight is confusingly and incorrectly displayed on the month calendar as an additional work shift the following day.

This very simple layout allows one to quickly glance down at what's happening on any day. You can choose to have the month view just display events or events and times for each day. As a VoiceOver user, this app allows me the fastest access to using my calendar of any app I have tried so far. I don't know how this works visually, but with text size not being at issue, using VO, you can hear every event on a given day with one flick. Before this I couldn't just use my calendar to schedule appointments on the spot, because there was no way to quicly move through the days and, say, note that I have next Thursday afternoon free. In the individual day views, you have the simplicity of only the events that are scheduled plus information from subscribed calendars if you wish. I'd be lost without this app.
