MOONVALE Reviews

Disappointing

After Duskwood, I had high hopes for Moonvale but I should have known better - sequels are rarely as good as the original. The storyline is intriguing, but the gem system renders the game virtually unplayable without spending a small fortune - and that’s just with one chapter available so far! Duskwood will always be one of the best games I’ve ever played but Moonvale just feels hollow in comparison.

Costly

I was soo looking forward for the next enticing adventure. Story line so far good but diamonds decrease rapidly and it is wanting you to put a lot of your own money to continue.

After waiting so long for this game I am so so disappointed. Duskwood was immersive and you connected with the characters not to mention the high quality images and calls etc. this game is a huge thumbs down from me. The AI, the gems, the story line. Big thumbs down from me

Solid Story, Not So Much The Rest Of The Game

I’m going to try and be as nice as I can in this review, because I know Everbyte worked hard on this. Moonvale has a solid plot so far, and it seems interesting. That being said, the game doesn’t nearly as real as Duskwood did. In Duskwood, every character had a profile that you could click on. You saw links to things that they liked, or to their social media accounts. You saw images of them which told you things about their personality. You even had notes. The Duskwood characters felt impeccably real. Duskwood became my comfort game that made me feel better. It was everything I needed. In Moonvale, the characters barely feel real. Not only are the profile pictures AI images, but there is nothing else to the characters. No links, no images…this is all you get. Furthermore, in Duskwood you were able to play all of the mini games until you reached 100%, minimising interruptions. In Moonvale, this isn’t an option. You have to complete the exact amount of mini games they tell you to at a time, meaning interruptions are maximised. I get that this is supposed to echo a real-time game, but it frustrates me to no end because no one in real time is going to be taking a break from a chat for multiple days. In addition, once you have purchased a media file, you cannot access it again. It seems a little ridiculous to me that you spend 19 gems on a picture of an envelope, only to never see it ever again. There is no way that you can access any previous files, which completely ruins the premium choices and makes me not want to spend gems at all. I believe that Everbyte did work very hard on this game, and I can see that from the story. But, I’m going to be honest, they’ve worked hard on so many wrong aspects of the game without bringing back what worked so well in Duskwood. I don’t think I’m going to be connecting with any of these new characters, but I’ll keep playing because I have faith. I’ll also definitely be replaying Duskwood, because it makes me feel so much better than this does.

The diamond thing is going to be a problem, please fix.

I am a die hard fan of Duskwood and I appreciate every little game play feature and offer system they have - including how if you wanted to pay a price to unlock rest of the ‘exclusive’ elements of the game. That was amazing. But now, a huge number of diamonds are required for viewing the basic information and we have to keep paying real money to buy more diamonds and it is a loop. Please bring the offer back like in Duskwood. xx On the plus side, the storyline seems solid and the references back to Duskwood elements for those who played that amazing game is exciting to see.

Upon downloading this game I had high hopes after Duskwood however there are a few issues I hadn’t expected to come across. The main story so far is fine (there’s only one chapter so far so hopefully it will progress as it goes) however the gem system is horrendous. At first I thought customising your account was kinda cute, fun, even though it uses AI unlike Duskwood (which in hindsight made Duskwood more enjoyable) however after clicking which profile picture I’d like, which costs 12 gems, it doesn’t even give you the item you’d like to buy. It randomises a chest which gives you either a background, a frame or a character, so you waste more gems trying to get the one you want. All the ‘good’ answers cost 25 gems so your constantly having to buy them (or like me, uninstall the game as it isn’t worth the money) I LOVED Duskwood. Moonvale feels like a money grab, and a bad one at that. Don’t bother downloading this game.

I absolutely loved Duskwood and so was super excited about Moonvale.. in all honesty it doesn’t even feel like it’s from the same developers - the ai pictures makes it feel like the other characters aren’t real - the gems are just insulting to us fans that have waited years for this, every “picture” or secret chat needing a bunch of gems that is literally impossible to earn without spending stupid amounts of money. - bring back the premium pack like duskwood.

Cash grab

ElizaPop2000 on

As much as the game is okay so far. You have to pay gems for every picture and every secret chat. There isn’t a user friendly way to earn that many gems either! Bring back the premium subscription. Don’t play if you aren’t prepared to spend actual money because this game is expensive from chapter 1!

Pure disappointment

Disappointed, this doesn’t even feel like it’s a game made from the same developers and Duskwood. The diamond System is awful. You’ve lost a lot of true fans and people who have waited 2 years for this. You should be ashamed.

What

Fluffiiiiiii8iiiiii on

Tbh I gave this game the benefit of the doubt. Sure! There’s a dumb pack for players that did duskwood BUT it won’t even cover all of episode 1 and, sure! They use AI art that they think you’ll pay for and, sure! The mini games won’t screw you over!! But if it’s 19 diamonds to see a picture and 25 to romance?? Yeah no. This is a money grab and they screwed everyone over. Not worth. I tried so hard. But you dropped the ball big time. Nothing here is worth staying for.
