Perfect, gradually increases number of letters and difficulty until you pass and progress. Suddenly you know all the letters of the alphabet
When is dah dit dah dah dit supposed to be ‘(‘ or a [‘K’ and an ‘N’ without a space (Procedural Sign for Go Ahead)] ? I thought I was doing really well. I managed to learn the alphabet, numbers and punctuation marks. Both sending and receiving. For punctuation marks this included the open and closed bracket symbols ( ) So for a bit of extra practice at sending morse I have been using the playground. Everything was working well until I started to send dah dit dah dah dit for ( the open bracket symbol The app identifies this as a procedural code for ‘Go Ahead’ which is sent as a K followed by an N with no space No space is denoted by a single line across the top of the letters to be sent without a space, I can’t replicate this line in this review text. Single dit space between characters shown as a / below K = dah dit dah N = dah dit KN as separate characters with dit space = dah dit dah / dah dit KN (no dit space)= dah dit dah dah dit ( open bracket = dah dit dah dah dit Would it be better if the app separated when procedural codes would be interpreted? Perhaps gave the user a toggle switch. I have been trying to find out more but I assume you would not expect a procedural KN to be sent mid message body as it is out of context Not forgetting I purchased the app with zero knowledge of morse, I am still an beginner, so I am sorry if my confusion makes me sound stupid. It would be really nice to see an expansion of the information behind procedural codes in the app especially for those where there is not expected to be a space between characters denoted by a single line across the top of the letters.
Everyone should know morse code and this app has made it easy and fun
Intuitive system, teaches good habits
This is a really cool app! Love the simple interface and it makes learning morse code a lot easier than you would think :)
I’ve been meaning to learn Morse for years, but never got around to it as it seemed quite daunting - this app changed all that! The approach to learning simple, common letters first, and then gradually expanding in logical steps is an excellent way to learn. It’s possible to learn the basics in just a few hours with this app. The design and layout is perfect - nothing flashy or distracting, just an easy, clean and logical interface. Highly recommended - so glad I got it, and thanks to the developer!
