Motionblinds Bridge Reviews

Simply flawed app

Drossi21 on

It’s strange that a company sells it’s products on the market without proper testing and even after repeated feedback does nothing to address the problems. My “bridge” needs to be re-paired every 2-3 days. Sometimes it pairs easily, sometimes it simply doesn’t. I do not recommend

Terrible app

daveyfx on

United States

As others have stated, adding a bridge is basically a crapshoot. It took me no less than 3 hours of repeated pairing attempts before my bridge would properly configure. I wish I had helpful pairing advice for future victims, but alas I did nothing different. You’re rolling the dice. The app development team either needs a bigger budget or a mass layoff. It’s a shame because the hardware seems quite good and after some digging I was able to link the bridge with my Alexa voice assistant.

I’m upset I spent money on this

*Truly* terrible app from top to bottom. I’m just trying to connect a bridge to connect my blinds and not one single part of that process works correctly, is easy to find, or is successful. The bridge times out so fast, the app won’t even register the bridge. There’s no easy to find “connect bridge” button. My WiFi router tells me a new device is connected but the pairing then “fails” I swear if anyone says “turn it off and back on again” I’ll smack you with every single device and part of that device that has been turned off and on in every conceivable sequence.

Couldn’t connect to WiFi

Exactly followed the instruction but it never connects to Wi-Fi. Such a waste of money and time. Speaking of what makes your smart home dumb.

App doesn’t work

brcb20 on

Impossible to connect the hub to wifi because the app doesn’t recognize my wifi and doesn’t let me manually add the SSID

To make it simple and blunt. This app is garbage! Does not connect or work!!! Wasted time, energy, and money!!!

App Barely Functions

HaileyKlingbeil on

Per the instruction manual, the app is supposed to have a blue circle with a “+” sign in the bottom right corner. This button enables you to add devices, timers, rooms, and scenes. For months, this arrow is not there. Despite me trying every possible method to resolve the issue, nothing had worked. (I’ve tried — logging out and back in, cancelling the app, hitting every button within app available, scrolling past the visible area, hitting the white space where the button *should* be, turning my phone on/off; making sure app is updated to current version; reading the instruction manual; etc.) Further, the existing timers cannot be edited. When I enter the edit screen, make changes, press “done” and return to the main page, none of the edits are there. I’ve also tried every possible way to fix this issue, but it has persisted for months. To make matters worse, the feedback section of the app does not work. After trying to make a report regarding the above-stated issues, and hitting “send”, an error message stating that my report cannot be sent because my email has not been set up yet appears. It has, and my profile reflects that it has as well.

Version 1.1.0 reset everything and can’t reconfigure

LILPA on

Version 1.1.0 updated last night and wiped out my configuration. Now it won’t allow me to start configuration over. This is a very frustrating experience. The prior version worked perfectly.

Won’t recognize it’s own WiFi

mscott-the real one on

United States

I can’t pair a bridge because it doesn’t recognize when I’ve switched to the bridge’s built-in WiFi. I seem to be 100% dead in the water. I got these blinds because they are supposed to be HomeKit compatible but without the bridge I’m stuck with a plain old remote. Terrible first impression.

NO PASSWORD RESET OPTION!

Where’s the ability to reset a password? No response from company.
