Another trick
There are a lot of little tricks & techniques to use when mixing sound. I don’t know much about it but I know this gives me more control over how much sound I can fit in to a mix without canceling other sounds - and it still maintains that basic shape when converting it to mono - which is what sold me on it to begin with. Mastering or mixing tracks on your phone? This has become a significant component of my process and regardless of genre or instrumentation (digital or acoustic), this should work great for any mixing situation whether you want more control from individual tracks to full mix.
