Description

Music Crab is a fun musical game for learning to read music!
Follow the steps of a crab diving through the ocean, through 182 levels, improve your memory and train your ear at your own pace, music theory has never been as easy!
Just select your crab, your keyboard and begin the game. Beginner’s Tip: On level 1 pick treble clef or bass clef and let the keyboard notes guide you. Listen carefully to the intervals between the notes to work out the name of the next note. The better you get at reading the notes, the larger the intervals become and the harder the sight-reading becomes!
Challenge your friends or family in Crab Run and compete together to see who is capable of the highest score!
Music Crab is adapted not only for children but also for parents and helps greatly with improving sight-reading!

Music Crab Reviews

Best way to learn

TimXMan on

It’s a fun and great app to learn how to sight read. One of the best in my opinion however. When the notes go below the clef on the leisure lines I CANNOT SEE THE CRAB the piano keys are blocking the crab and sight reading. Besides that I would give it 5 stars

Very helpful and fun game

I have played organ/piano for over four years now, I am mostly self taught. Site reading I have always ignored learning because of my dyslexia and ADHD I thought it would be too difficult for me to do. Interaction with games is how I have learned the best in the past. This game is good example of how I hope the future of learning will become, through interactive experiences rather then just abstract concepts. Thank you for helping me unlock my learning potential.

Could be great but needs work

Just discovered this game in my attempts to improve my sight reading in a fun way. I love the concept and the layout, but there is work to be done. For starters, I am not sure how to advance through all the levels. I made it through round 7/level 26, have plenty of shells (although as one other review mentioned how shells are awarded is confusing too) but no more levels appear for me to select or unlock. I thought there were supposed to be hundreds of levels? How am I supposed to access them? If they are an in app purchase there are no prompts. I think an instructions or demo screen would be useful as well.

It’s good!

I couldn’t figure out how to use it. But my 6 year old did! He and his 8 year old brother are enjoying it.

Good so far.

Very good for beginners. However it needs more of a chord challenge.

Love the new free version

Thank you! A lot of my students refused to make the in app purchase. Finally I can get them to use this app. I teach piano using fixed DO so even though my US kids need to use SI in place of TI, it’s perfect. >^..^<

Not musically correct

Hi, there is no H in music. B was left out. Also, it doesn’t teach anything or give directions for the game

Great idea!

A lot of fun to see the different keyboards used around the world! A little difficult for those who have learned to read normal sheet music to see the crab graphic but a very useful learning tool! 5 stars

Pretty cool game

I liked the crab run game, it exposes you to different keyboards in a universal way. The game demands sometimes more hand eye coordination that practice reading but it still helps. I wish more levels were unlocked and the fish swimming in the background sometimes distract but overall creative idea.

Great app fun game

Highly recommend to anyone who wants to increase their memory or play music! I feel like my capacity to focus and my ability to read music both improved since I started playing. I love the CRAB RUN and all the keys choices. It would be fun to be able to challenge my friends from the app!
