Musictionary Music Dictionary Reviews
Okay, But Not Great
The primary musical terms I lookup are tempo terms so that I can setup my metronome with bpm. There are no bpm indications listed.
The first non-tempo term I looked up was 'motif'. That term was not there either.
The app is Okay, but it could be a lot better.
Waste of $1
We needed a dictionary for piano lessons. The first word assigned--motive--was not in there. Seems a bit ridiculous.
Nice pocket dictionary but...
This is a nice reference book, but, I wish that I was able edit or put notes somewhere in this app.
Perfect for learning!
This app has very simple definitions and is very easy to use. I am using it to teach music terms seen in the songbook at church. Highly recommended!
Not very thorough
I wanted to look up two words "tonality" and "modality", the fundamentals of music, and they were not there.
Needs more information!
It's not bad, but it needs more information, and more pictures along with the definitions. I can't exactly search an image, nor could I describe it in the search bar and have it come out. As of now, this is not worth even the dollar I paid for it. This would make a good free version, and a larger information database would be worth the dollar. I probably won't even look in this app again until there is an update.
Fantastic
Great little piece of reference material in my phone. As a music teacher who operates music studios over 3 counties I'm glad I leave the music dictionary at home. My only complaints are, 1) I wish I could enter definitions myself and 2) more info, 500 definitions is a god start but when is the next installment?
Great app but
Please format for iPad users!
Needs visuals. For the notation, a clear picture of a rest symbol for an example. Showing where it goes on the staff. Visuals visuals visuals! The bookmarks are cool. So, you can save definitions.
