MusicTools is a set of tools designed for music students, amateur, and professional musicians. This initial release contains a comprehensive music dictionary and a set of useful quick reference charts. MusicTools contains thousands of definitions, abbreviations and performance notations used in music from the 18th century through the present day. Future versions will contain additional tools to assist all levels of musicians with rehearsal and performance.
This version features an extremely fast, easy-to-use dictionary search engine and an intuitive set of charts allows for quick use during lessons, practice sessions, and rehearsals. English, German, Latin, Italian and French variations of words and pronunciations are also provided. Musicians who play from older manuscripts will find MusicTools especially helpful in identifying older notations and abbreviations no longer listed in modern dictionaries.

Comprehensive. Great reference tool. Very flexible metronome

No abbreviations

Unless they are hidden somewhere, if musical notes abbreviations are not included, I will ask for a refund.

Very helpful

I am not very music trained. I find the definitions very helpful. Thanks so much for this app, which I always have available on my iPhone.

Not worth it

Purchased to have easy access but MANY musical terms are not included and the ones that are are the most basic, rudimentary explanations I have come across. So not worth it

Good, but the search engine could use some upgrades

Not all the words in the dictionary come up by entering the word. For example più does not appear unless you know to add the accent. Meno won’t appear; you have to stop at men , then scroll down through the filtered list. But then you can’t get rid of the keyboard so you can scroll to the bottom of the filtered list.

Great app!! Every musician should have this and keep it handy. I use daily when teaching and performing.

What a great resource!

I'm a music teacher and I need exact definitions for terms very regularly in order to plan my lessons and this app has quite quickly replaced my pocket dictionary other than the very specific things. Thank you!

Great App!

As a classical pianist, I typically carry a separate pocket dictionary. With this app, I have all I need right on my phone. This app has a large Italian vocabulary and the definitions are quite accurate. Definitely worth 3 bucks!
