Really Nice Prequel!

Really Fun! 10/10

Not for me.

As a long time player of the original msm (pretty much since launch) I really wanted to like dof, however the design decisions has made it impossible for me. The original msm is a very casual game, The core fun of it is breeding monsters in order to assemble the song of their island. This core gameplay isnt hindered by anything but timers (which works well for casual gameplay). All you do is log in, breed monsters, collect resources and then spend them on something you want. Fast and simple. Now dawn of fire has the same core gameplay, you breed monsters in order to make a song. The major difference is that here this core is heavily hindered by a very tedious system of crafting. The whole economy of the game relies on crafting and marketing. It starts simple but as you progress you start crafting items in order to use them to craft other items and so on… Now you could theoretically buy the final products you want in the market but its not realistic to do so. On the very rare occasion i saw an item i need it would always without fail tell me someone else already bought it. This makes the whole market seem like its dominated by bots since there is no way i could look and click any faster than i already am. So that leave us with only crafting the items, which would be fine if it was an optional feature. Sadly it is not, the produced items are required in order to level up monsters, which in turn is mandatory to transfer them to the outer islands. This makes it incredibly tedious to play the game and enjoy the very core which made the original game so well loved. Now i know some players will like this kind of gameplay but not me, and considering how casual the original is i doubt many fans of the original will either.
