Description

The Stations of the Cross, are a way to pray and meditate on Christ's sacrifice for us. There are in total fourteen stations from the time he was condemned to his burial. This devotion has been long encouraged by the church, and is especially useful during Lent and Good Friday.
Below are the 8 reasons from Pope Francis on why we should pray the Stations of the Cross.
1. They Allow Us to Place Our Trust in Him
2. They Put Us into the Story
3. They Remind Us That Jesus Suffers with Us
4. They Compel Us to Action
5. They Helps Us Make a Decision for or Against Christ
6. They Reveal God’s Response to Evil in the World
7. They Give Us the Certainty of God’s Love for Us
8. They Guide Us from the Cross to the Resurrection
This app is developed for you to have easy access to the fourteen stations anywhere you go and at anytime. You may also choose to share any station in which you find particularly meaningful to your friend and family members easily via the app. There is also an optional dark theme which improves reading in the dark. I have this app on my desktop. I really liked it. BUT, whenever I try to open it it flies off the page. I don’t know if someone hacked it, but there is nothing there right now. I would like to correct that and use it again.

Contraceptive Ads, Really?

Augustine of Hippo on

United States

The app is okay, has the necessary prayers and guide. Three stars for the app, not for the ads. But ads at the bottom for contraceptives, really? Every single station has one. Yes, I know that I can pay to get the version without ads, but an app mainly aimed at Catholics, shouldn’t be getting any income from those types of ads. It is contrary to church teaching. Be forewarned. There are better apps out there for only a couple of dollars, without those types of ads.

Simple and Powerful

I really like this app. There are no opening or closing prayers, as with other apps or like we have in the booklets at Church. If that matters to you, this is not the app for you. It is the text of each Station. It’s a new translation of the text that I’ve never read before. I go to Stations at Church on Friday nights and recite the opening and closing prayers and sing the refrain between each Station. This is exactly what I need to pray the Stations at home. Thumbs up!

No prayers before/after stations

Fubar3719 on

United States

There are normally prayers before the stations to prepare and prayers after to conclude the stations. This app does not have them, therefore this app is not sufficient in itself for the stations. What is there is good, but incomplete.

The meditations were good but there were ads continuously scrolling along the bottom. The ads were both distracting and annoying. I will uninstall this app.
