App is fine, terrible service
Tello is cheap and there is a reason. I am having all sorts of issues, including calls to my phone number going to random other people.

Have been left stranded on more than one occasion due to terrible data speeds. I understand you get what you pay for but it should not be this bad

Best internet and phone service.
The line is so inexpensive, $25 monthly for unlimited internet,call,text to over 60 countries. But you can choose plans for $5 monthly. The service is fast and strong,I RECOMMEND TO EVERYONE. No regrets.

Perfect service and cheap plans starting from $5. I used code P38CPQVR for a $10 service credit. Highly recommend over big three.
Excellent
Been using Tello for more than a year. Great customizable plans and add-on features for its price, great customer service, and app does what it needs to. Genuinely recommend!
Best service for light users
If you don’t need many minutes or a lot of data (e.g. don’t stream videos) but still get unlimited text messages, you can get plans on Tello for as low as $6 a month (as of the date of this review.) Tello is an MVNO that makes use of T-Mobile and is generally reliable. Makes for a great backup phone option and if you need extra data during a given month, you can add it on. Customer service was very good and was able to reach them quickly.
Good but not what I expected
I thought I’d landed on the perfect solution for my needs. Unfortunately sms is not available in the app. The fact you can call from the app lead me to believe it was a voip soft phone, like Google voice offers. I’m traveling internationally for months at a time and go places where the network doesn’t allow “calling over WiFi” but calling and messaging from inside apps works fine. Google voice can call and text all day but I wanted a real service/line for bank accounts and when I’m in the states…
Highly recommend
I have had Tello for about a year, and plan to continue using this phone service provider. Good coverage, low pricing, and customer service has been great. Those are just a few of the positives.
Whole family is having issues!
There are 4 of us using Tello right now. Service has been absolutely awful! Texts are not going through. Phone quality is horrendous! Large increments of data came off my service over the period I had my phone turned off. App never works anymore! We are feeling like the initial startup was just another scam where it all seemed so nice at first.
