Description

Ear training is highly essential for any musician - be it a composer, singer, songwriter or instrumentalist. It practices the ability to connect music theory elements (intervals, chords, scales) with real sounds you hear. The benefits of mastering ear training include improved intonation and musical memory, confidence in improvisation or the ability to transcribe music more easily.
MyEarTraining makes ear training practice possible almost anywhere and anytime on the go, thus saving you from the hassle of assembling musical instruments. You can practically train your ears while waiting at the bus stand, traveling, or even at your coffee desk.
>> APP FOR ALL EXPERIENCE LEVELS
Whether you are new to music theory, need to prepare for an intensive school exam, or are an experienced musician, there are over 100 aural exercises to help you push your music skills. Users with no ear training experience begin with simple perfect intervals, major vs. minor chords and simple rhythms. Advanced users can progress through seventh chord inversions, complex chord progressions and exotic scale modes. You can use tonal exercises with solfeggio or singing exercises to improve your inner ear. Input answers using buttons or virtual piano keyboard. For major music topics, MyEarTraining offers different courses and lessons including basic music theory. Interval songs and practice piano are also included.
>> COMPLETE EAR TRAINING
MyEarTraining app works by combining different ear training approaches like isolated sounds, singing exercises, and functional exercises (sounds in tonal context) to train your ears, thus maximizing results. It’s designed for musicians who want to improve their relative pitch recognition abilities and get one step further towards perfect pitch.

I would only change one thing

Ray Holden on

United States

I am not a fan of a lot of the default infernal training songs. Although I enjoy listening to classical music as such of the traditional examples, it's not as catchy as other more modern popular culture examples. Please check out "David Bennett Piano" on YouTube and see the ear training videos - there are a lot of better examples of interval training songs, he has a video on both ascending and descending intervals.

Make premuim features separate

Can you sell the premium features separately please. I don’t need every feature.

Potential fix

Dstable on

United States

It’s a good app but there are some overtones in some cases that make it hard to identify harmonic intervals.

Amazing app, extremely helpful

This app improved my singing by so much. I cant believe I learned to sing in tune from an app that’s literally FREE. Whoever created this app. I am in debt to you and I wish I could donate for how much it helped me.

Note missing

Vincecus on

United States

I used it today for my morning routine and there was a missing note on the keyboard for chord training with melody! There were Eb,F,G, and A was missing on the keyboard and the exercise sounded with an A. Watch out! ☝️

Great App

This is one of the best ear training apps. And I’ve tried most of them. I paid for the upgraded version. Definitely worth it for me. I chose this specifically because so few apps had descending melodic intervals. At first that was all that I used it for. But, I keep finding new and better ways to use it. One suggestion. Can you add an update that lets users increase the size of the fonts? The fonts are fairly small within the app. Would be great to give some more accessibility options.

Amazing

LedZeppeli on

If I could give six stars I would. So much fun to use, so helpful in so many ways. I’m a music teacher and having a tool like this to put into the hands of students is amazing. My one gripe is that the rhythmic dictation exercises make it difficult to ascertain when exactly a note is cut off, that is, whether you’re hearing 1. A quarter note followed by a rest, or 2. A dotted quarter followed by an eighth rest. That being said, I’m not sure how is the best way to fix that, and the app would be amazing even if there was no rhythmic dictation at all.

EXCELLENT APP!!

Rex Boss on

Best app I've seen so far for ear training. Very versatile. Worth the money for the upgraded version. As an instructor who uses it for my students, it is also great. My students enjoy it. Very customizable for the different skill levels you may have from newbie to even college level. Customer service is also excellent if you ever need to contact them. You will not be disappointed! Ramdom melody from a fixed set of notes?

CarryMe on

United States

Great app, a real go-to. I would love to specify a random melody of 4 or 8 notes from a fixed set such as {C D E F G} (as opposed to specifying a fixed set of intervals). We do this in a melodic dictation exercise in my ear training class.
