MyEPark FAQ
Is MyEPark free?
Yes, MyEPark is completely free and it doesn't have any in-app purchases or subscriptions.
Is MyEPark legit?
⚠️ The MyEPark app has poor ratings and negative feedback. Users seem unsatisfied with its performance or features.
This is a disgrace, full stop. And to top it off it has been YEARS of the same app without even a glimmer of improvement. Your tax dollars hard at work. The latest error is “invalid hash” and which makes adding funds or updating payment information impossible. This is why I’m hopping on my escooter for my commute and not giving the city another cent in parking fees. Oh and they are quick to ticket you but not actually enforcing tow aways when Ram 1500’s park outside the limits making visibility zero for others. Everything is going to pot here.
Scammy - set up to fail
Wouldn’t load payment credential page, error: “invalid hash value”.
Seems since the city of Edmonton has been failing multiple audits, and allegedly mismanaging funds - that coincidentally their parking payment service is set up to fail & automatically ticket drivers. I guess the money to recuperate mismanaged funds has to come from somewhere, right!?
Spoke to 311 about this & was told that they are in a transition state to a new parking payment service called ‘HotSpot’ & in the meantime funds cannot be added to Epark. This app is garbage & this city is run by criminals.
Very Painful
This app shouldn’t exist. So frustrating to use. Registering a user was so glitchy. Adding plates were so painful. Loading funds work half the time. Updating credit card renders all sorts of errors.
If I could give it less than 1 start, I would!
Barely works half the time. Doesn’t let me add funds or a credit card on file and other times it glitches and takes $50 instead of $25. Such a waste of an app, can’t believe a city app can be this insufferable. They need to improve these glitches, add at least a $5-$15 option too since not all people use city parking regularly.
Basic usability testing needed
Complete pain to use in any situation where a set of vehicles is used by multiple household members because of how license plates are associated with phone numbers.
Frequent errors purchasing parking that are not explained and offer no clue as to how to resolve.
Horrible
Makes you preload funds to pay for parking.
I’m not loading this dog of an app with $25-$1000 (lol).
Absolute dog of an app
TERRIBLE
Yet again city council manages to overthink and under perform when picking social services. A friggin brutal app, you have to remember to stop your parking, you have to preload your account…. It’s friggin 2023!?!?! My 7 year old son writes better apps at Code Ninjas. Websites from 1996 looked better than this piece of junk.
What an embarrassment. Other cities realized they were not programmers or tech companies and licensed great services like PayByPhone. What a novel idea, link a credit card and have it charge whatever time you book, then a pop up on your phone asks if you want more time.
On top of all this, are we the only citing in Canada that charges on weekend evenings and Sundays!?!? Go to Calgary and they have free parking during these times to support local business.
Our parking system is embarrassing to say the least, add in the ridiculous double down on the Arch Card for transit and an LRT that is legitimately useless due to terrible project management and raw material procurement and it’s no wonder we’re a flyover city.
City council, hirer your weaknesses and start serving the greater good of the people who voted you in.
Classic Edmonton, a day late and a dollar short.
Barely works
First off, two persons sharing a care cannot both register for the app, which has been a major pain point. Also, stop signing me out. It’s on my iPhone; no one else is going to steal my account. This is terribly subpar app and an embarrassment for the City of Edmonton.
Lord help us…
Hate this app. Must ‘load’ your account using a credit card, then each time I park the amount is ‘deducted’. The app is slow, at times unresponsive, and yesterday the app appeared to not be working when I tried to pay for parking at 8:55 am through the app. I eventually managed to successfully pay via the app at 9:01 am. I subsequently got a parking ticket at 9:01 am as well. Had to phone the city of Edmonton and complain about receiving a 50$ parking ticket when I clearly paid for parking on the app. The city employee I spoke to then questioned why I didn’t just use a ‘machine’ if the app was down. Annoying app and irritating city worker.
Who designed this?
Holy up. You can’t just pay the hourly rates like you could if you just walked to the kiosk? You have to buy in increments of at least $25? What is this? ImPark?
