MyFoodRepo Reviews

Login Prozess ist kaputt

Ich kann kein Konto erstellen. Die App ist kaputt. 🤷‍♂️

Confusing and unprecise

The UX and data model do not seem well designed. 1 meal shows up as entries, one for each picture taken. If I eat the same meal again and duplicate the previous one, only one picture is shown. There is no calorie tracking. There are no hints as to how to label the pictures. There is no structured input. My prediction for the usefulness of data collected through this app, be it for ML or dietary studies: garbage in, garbage out.

Citizen Science for Better Nutrition and Health

AschiH on

We all are interested in eating healthy and good tasting meals. But we and science in general know little about how individuals react to certain foods. For example how does my blood glucose levels change in response to white bread, softdrinks, or ice cream. With MyFoodRepo I just participated in a citizen science study to answer these questions. For 2 weeks my wife and I recorded all our meals with MyFoodRepo and monitored our blood glucose levels with Abbott‘s Freestype Libre glucose sensor. We realized how differently we responded to that same foods. The App made it easy to protocol food intake by simply taking pictures of what we ate or drank. It is only by the participation of large numbers of people in projects like foodandyou.ch that we can obtain a better understanding of personalized nutrition.

Easy to use

The app was very easy to use. It would be nice if you could zoom into the photos taken. Would make answering questions easier.

Sometimes when I wanted to specify the Foto, like seeing a title, my typing was not visible —> I assume a technical problem.

Works really well!

I used the app for three weeks and must say that it worked really well. Many foods/drinks were in the data base and only needed to be scanned. Overall, the user experience is smooth. I used it as a part of the Food & You study. For my own purposes, I would have wished that the app provides some rough overview of my intake (calories, fat, salt, etc)z

JeffBuckler on
