The app for PWS owners and 'Weather Underground' contributors, exclusively for iOS and WatchOS!
You own a weather station that submits measurement data to Wunderground.com (WeatherUnderground)? You want to get a quick overview, as well as detailed diagrams with the readings of your weather station and those of more than 250,000 other weather stations of the Wunderground network?
Then myPWS is exactly the right app for you! All you need is: your personal API key, which will be created in your personal account on Wunderground.com for you to retrieve.
Once you've configured access to Wunderground.com for myPWS by entering your API key, myPWS will let you view the latest readings from your weather station, as well as any other weather station registered on Wunderground.com. You can use an area map to search for near or far weather stations all over the world and have them displayed for detailed diagrams and current readings.
myPWS offers you extensive diagrams with the
• measured values of the current and the previous day
• the last 7 days (per hour / per day)
• any day in the past*
• monthly data*
• yearly data*
• data of two PWS in one single comparison chart*
• combined data of one PWS in a single chart*
• wind direction chart*
Up to two different types of data can be displayed together in a diagram, e.g. to look at temperature and air pressure together in one graph.
Furthermore you can
• cache and export data via iCloud our email to your other devices on which you also use myPWS*. This saves data API calls which are limited to 1,500 per day through Wunderground.com via your API key
• add more than two stations to your station list*
• export diagram data via CSV, PDF or as graphics*
• email - export raw measurement data as provided by Underground
Please note: myPWS requires a Wunderground.com account and a PWS (Personal Weather Station) registered in your account. By registering a PWS you will receive an API key which is needed for the retrieval of data from the Wunderground network by myPWS. The access to PWS measurement data via the Wunderground data server depends on the availability of the WU infrastructure and the WU API services, which are not under the control of the manufacturers of the myPWS app.

Further to my review of 3 years ago, I can honestly say that this app is rock solid and delivers excellent PWS content and detail. I recently upgraded to the more advanced graphs option and it definitely makes the products easier to read and analyze. I am very happy with how this app works on all my Apple devices and wherever I travel in the world, I can easily reach back to home and see what the weather is like. Highly recommended. PK
Easily the best PWS app but...
... the pop-up asking for in-app purchase is way way too annoying (popping up every 2-3 operations in the app). While I understand that it is costly to develop such a nice app, I would much appreciate if these messages are replaced by small ad banners for revenue generation purposes. The paywall is also a bit high for extra features (IMO only the cache manager was worth the price, others are a tad bit overpriced, even though I have bought the $7 watch integration add-in) Apart from that, the app is nicely built, the UI is very visually appealing, the charts are easy to read while able to show details at the same time. I love almost every aspect of the app. The setup process was alright, though the API key entry might be confusing for some. One thing on my wish list would be an iOS 14 widget showing the weather conditions of the PWS. I’ve quickly became an hourly user of this app and addicted to it! Keep up the great work!
One of the best!
I’ve tried (and used) many different PWS apps, and this is by far the best I have found. Being able to look at graphs logged over time, and toggle items on/off with historical data let’s us know the weather patterns and trends during storms. Please keep up the great work!
Best PWS app!
I’ve tried several different apps that are supposed to give accurate and complete PWS info, but this one is the best I’ve seen so far. I’m happy that I upgraded to richer features and supported an excellent app. Keep up the great work!! PK
Wonderfully complete app for my own personal weather station
I had no idea that all of this historical weather data was recorded somewhere that can be accessed easily by my PWS
Komplikation Farbverlauf
Grundsätzlich eine tolle App. 5 Sterne würde ich geben, wenn der Farbverkauf der Watch Komplikation anders dargestellt wäre: Aktuell ist die Maximaltemperatur immer rot. Besser wäre, wenn die Farbe sich nach der Temperatur richtet (rot erst ab 30 grad) usw. Ähnlich der App „comfort“.
Luftfeuchtigkeit
Ich benutze die App schon eine ganze Zeit. Meinem Sohn fiel auf, dass die Luftfeuchtigkeit in der App immer mit 1% angezeigt wird, obwohl die lokale Anzeigeeinheit, also das Display der Wetterstation höhere Werte zeigt. Heute zum Beispiel 59%. Könnte da ein Fehler in der App sein? 🧐 Viele Grüße und danke für die ansonsten gute App.
Guter Ansatz aber zu viele in App Käufe
Die App ist grundsätzlich gut gemacht und funktioniert auch gut. Ich finde die vielen in App Käufe übertrieben und zu teuer. Dafür sollte mehr Funktionalität vorhanden sein. Zum Beispiel der Vergleich der Wetterdaten für einen bestimmten Tag über mehrere Jahre oder auch die Möglichkeit der Suche nach bestimmten Datum.
Kostet zwar etwas, ist aber dafür sehr umfangreich
Ich habe ein wenig gezögert vor dem Kauf. Ich habe das komplette Paket für 25 Euro gekauft. Ist ja einmalig und nicht irgendein Abo. Die App ist super strukturiert. Ich hoffe die App bleibt so stark.
