myRogerMic Reviews

Life is Great Again

Richard Terrio on

United States

I’ve been wearing hearing aids for 20 years. I’m very vain about wearing them and very often try to hide the fact. My hearing loss is moderate to severe. My hearing aids were fine for one on one conversations and in a relatively quiet environment. But group settings or with any background nose it was impossible to follow along. My attempts at faking an understanding in a conversation led to some Very embarrassing moments. Restaurants were the worst. Or classroom and seminars were the bad also. Then I read an article about the development of the myRogerMic On by Sonoma. My audiologist had no idea what it was. I insisted she order me one. Oh my oh my. How my life changed. I don’t leave home without it. I set in the middle of a table in a group setting. Several microphone in the unit pick up the person talking with great clarity. In a classroom or seminar setting I leave the unit the person presenting. I attend small local plays and set the myRogerMic at a convenient spot and I’m able to hear every performer like they were standing in front of me. I attend various game events similar to and including Bingo and leave the unit with the caller and don’t miss a thing. I attend weekly trivia contest and I leave the unit with the caller. It’s amazing how much I’ve improved in these wonderful events. Could it be that I’m now actually hearing what’s really being said. Life is great again. Addendum: I forgot the one significant use. When in a passenger car with people in the front seat and back seat I place the Roger in the seat I’m not in and can everyone even if the radio is on. This device is a marriage savor.

Tracking?

………..pk on

United States

The app is great for the most part, but it would be great if you could see how well it is charged while the Roger is charging, and to add a tracking feature so that you can find the Roger if it is being passed around a room in meetings or discussions. Other than that it is a wonderful tool.

Good but needs some work

A toggle switch to shut the outside mic and off would be a great idea.

MyRogerMic vs MyPhonak

Guntherette on

United States

Sure wish the bean features were included in the MyPhonak App. Why two apps? Also, I did not get an app icon drop on my iPhone. Have to search for the app in order to open. Cumbersome at best

Install Firmware Update

Downloaded update comes in zip file. Trying to unzip for installing update is unresponsive. Doesn’t include failed attempt directions.

Multibeam no longer appears as a setting option

Hercus Bowood on

United States

As of March 30, 2023, since recent MyPhonak updates the Roger On iN with this app no longer displays the option to activate the multibeam focusing feature. It was working before the MyPhonak version update.

Frequently looses settings, Requires frequent adjustment

SCUBA_Instr on

United States

Newest version frequently “forgets” “saved” settings, especially when quitting and restarting the app. If sound source changes to answering the phone or listening to music, it becomes necessary to readjust settings of this app. A partial fix is to keep this app open always and keep iPhone nearby always. There is no option to save an adjusted custom setting, when you re-access any setting, be it custom or default, you must readjust the volume. The only save is to save to a new setting, but each time you access the newly created setting, the parameters are lost and must be readjusted. Recommandation: Add a save and save as button to this menu, and FIX THE PROBLEM of settings being lost.
