MySubaru FAQ
Is MySubaru free?
Yes, MySubaru is completely free and it doesn't have any in-app purchases or subscriptions.
Is MySubaru legit?
⚠️ The MySubaru app has poor ratings and negative feedback. Users seem unsatisfied with its performance or features.
I’m one of the lucky ones who’s been able to use this app without issues.
However, it would be extremely helpful if it displays the current status of the engine if it’s running or not, and more importantly, if the doors are locked or not. Also, to be able to activate heat on the steering wheel would be a bonus.
Instead of a delay in starting the engine (of one, five, or 10 mins), may I suggest being able to start the car by setting a specific time.
I agree with the other reviewers. It’s so useful, but at $200 a year? After my three year trial period, I’d have to decide whether to fork out the money or go with an aftermarket remote starter.
Please consider my suggestions. Thank you.
“Fatal error” messages on sign in
This app was good to me for about a year. Lately, every other time I try to sign in, I get “Fatal error. Please try again later.” That’s unacceptable when I am trying to remote start my car as I’m getting ready to leave for work in the winter. I have come to count on the remote start feature and now, thanks to the app, I can’t.
$200/year
Scam
Garbage App
Does not startup. I don’t know if it is because Apple just updated their iOS. Tried it when not connected to wifi as another review mentioned that issue. App works but only when not connected to wifi.
Doesn’t work on wifi
Finally got the app working, but only on my cell connection. Doesn’t work for me on wifi. I even tried turning off my router’s firewall, but no luck.
I’m on an iPhone 16 Pro with iOS 18.1.1
Stopped working
For the first 3 years, the app was working fine, although its functionalities are very limited. But now it just doesn’t launch anymore and trying to get support is quite the challenge. I use the app mainly to remotely start my Ascent in the winter, since defrosting takes for ever. But now I can’t.
Design is lacking and features are needed
Would love an updated design that allows us to have customizable buttons on the main page for our remote start presets.
Would also love to see some integration with homekit and the Shorcuts app so that I can create shortcuts / widgets to quickly trigger my custom presets without opening the app and Siri integration.
Not good for Canadian winters
I like the range and I like the fact that I can see that my car has started. What I do not like is that it only command starts 2 times. Then you have to go out and manually start it. I live in Canada. Winters here are brutal. I also work 12 hour night shifts and need to be able to start my car more than just 2 times during the shift. Especially when the temp goes down to -40 Celsius. Come on Subaru I know you can do better than that.
Mon premier avis
Semble bien à première vue. Reste à voir avec l’utilisation
Je n’ai pas évalué le coût après la période de 3 ans mais c’est à voir
Amélioration possible: Avoir une comptabilité avec l’AppleWatch
Useless
99% of the time it doesn’t load past the startup screen, so it is completely useless. With the app being the only way to remote start, I am completely unable to access that function. Subaru, fix your app!
