Myths of the World Reviews
Under the veil
Love this game and the series but on my ipad 2 games freeze right in the middle or beginning of game. I restart. Erase, delete and reinstall and still will freeze. My sister has the same ipad and it works fine. Downloaded from same app. Can’t seem to get it to work unless I down load it on my old tiny ipad.
Myths of the World: Behind the Veil.
The first realm was very active and more thought put into it. The last 3 realms were barely enough to even realize you played one. Appears the game was rushed to try to make money before truly completing the original idea of the game.
Puzzles are so confusing
Beautiful graphics, wonderful music. Cool theme...Dia de los Muertos. But those puzzles...so confusing and could not understand instructions. Had to skip most, which is a total waste. Very glitchy also. Don’t recommend, unless you enjoy frustration.
Blah to worse
Update: I just played this game again, a year and a half later. I thought maybe I was being too hard on the game, maybe I had just played something really outstanding before it, and by comparison it was not good. Nope! It’s even worse than I previously said! Many objects look like they are going to be something interactive, but no it’s just a decoration. It could’ve been magical, which is so frustrating! It’s like the art department created all this magical scenery, expecting the programming team to use it, but they did not. And the story is quite disjointed, two lovers who died are reunited once a year in a legend, turns out one is still alive? Makes no sense. Really silly mini games mostly, except the ribbon game and one or two logic games. Downgraded
from 3 to 2 stars. I won’t give 1 star unless it’s unplayable. It’s playable, but I don’t think you’ll want to!
This game could’ve been great. The imagery was beautiful and bright. But there were only like two things to do in each scene. And it was short, it just kind of ended in the middle of the story. They really just phoned this one in, and while Eipix is not known for creativity or innovation, this one was poorly done by even their standards.
Good game
Everything was doable but directions on how to complete activities were vague.
Length is reason it’s losing a star
Otherwise, super solid game & while the theme has been done before, it’s a relatively unique spin & was perfect considering the time of year!
Stunning graphics
The most breathtaking graphics I’ve ever seen in a game. Not your everyday storyline either. Loved it.
What fun!
This is an interesting, unique game with a timely Día de los Muertos theme. The story is great and the puzzles challenging. The characters’ accents could use some work, but that’s the only (admittedly nit-picky) negative feature of this great game. It was part of the Halloween sale, but it’s worth $6.99 or more. Well done, Big Fish! I’d love to have more like this one.
Scenes and story good, glitches though
Overall I liked this game, but there were too many glitches and poor mini game instructions. I ended up skipping too many mini games because I couldn't get the point or strategy. There were some objects that I found, but couldn't select because the "hot area" was too small.
I liked HOPs, and there were too few for me. I did like the absence of gory violence and the colorful scenery, as well as the Mexican culture depicted.
What a waste.
Such beautiful scenes wasted on a game that has terrible and lacking instruction and direction. There are multiple times you need to just tap the screen anywhere from 3-8 times to move the game forward, but it doesn’t tell you that anywhere. Mini game instructions (if available) seem to give you step 1 in a five step process but never show you steps 2 through 5. It was like the makers created 60% of the game and just quit.
