MyTSA FAQ
Is MyTSA free?
Yes, MyTSA is completely free and it doesn't have any in-app purchases or subscriptions.
Is MyTSA legit?
⚠️ The MyTSA app has poor ratings and negative feedback. Users seem unsatisfied with its performance or features.
Need to focus on improving accuracy even if it is done for just 10 airports before making it available to all US airports. Same tech that is used for Google maps traffic can be used because nearly 100% people are carrying cell phones that are tracking locations / wait times
Inaccurate-Do Not Trust It
I am at DFW and the average time shows 15 minutes. It took me 35 minutes to get through the TSA screening. All TSA checkpoints had insanely long lines and none of them looked like they’re only 15 minutes to get through. Save yourself a headache and do not trust this app’s timing.
Useless
At PHL now. Apps says pre-check is closed and it is open. Says wait time for regular tsa is 0-15. Yeah, no.
Way off
Was quoted less than a 15 minute wait for O’Hare security on 6/8 midday. Actual wait was 50 minutes
TSA Digital ID?
SO they advertise this TSA Digital ID in airports. They say go to this app and set it up. Unfortunately you cannot. It is the typical disorganized federal government double talk speaking to themselves with all kinds of silly product names nobody else knows or understands as qualifiers for features. Long story short, TSA Digital IDs, don’t bother.
Not Real Time Info
The app is a great idea. I figured I can see how good or bad the wait at the security lines is. However, after using it I determined it is just giving you the collective average wait time for that time on that day - not what is actually happening. The average wait time for 3:00 on a Monday based on months or years of data. It’s still useful but not nearly as much as I hoped.
Not accurate
It may show the average TSA times but is not accurate showing real time data. Do not rely on
Gives general wait times, not specific to your terminal
The only reason you would download this app probably is to check security checkpoint wait times. And that’s where this falls the most short.
It only gives an average wait time across the entire airport. At the minimum it should give times per terminal. In places like DFW where each Terminal has multiple security checkpoints, even more specific information is needed.
The funny thing is, some airport websites are able to give this information, so the data is available. Just not in this app.
No search results
I just downloaded this app but on searching for the airports I will be using no results come back. Location services are set to always
