Is MyVTech Baby Plus legit?

I rely on the sound alert on my monitor to alert me when my babies make a nose. This upgrade doesn't have it. It's also frustrating with the motion detection recording. I have it set to high and record motion but it doesn't update in real time. I have to keep refreshing and logging out to see if i get updated motion footage but i don't. It says the last time my babies moved was hours ago but meanwhile in watching them roll around in their cribs.
Doesn’t work
App does not work. Do not waste your money on a vtech monitor.
Solid Camera
The notification intervals never stay what we put them at. We move it from 1 min to 5 mins for the cry notifications. But it never stays, or when we go to adjust the intervals it just non-stop loads.
I’d being willing to give a higher rating if that didn’t constantly happen.
Sharing No Longer Works
I do not recommend this app or device. The family share has stopped working on wifi since the iOS 18 update. Useless. Error messages say it’s not connected but the owner connects and it’s clearly a problem with the app. Purchase from another company as this one does not even bother to update. Avoid!
3rd strike
This is the 3rd vtech baby monitor app we have had to download: baby 1080p, baby pro, now baby plus. None of them have been perfect, but this one is by far the worst. The “press to talk” microphone button does not work when pressed, which is extremely frustrating when my child is calling for me. The app will also unexpectedly crash when it is running in the background which is a huge safety concern. I can’t understand how a company of this magnitude can’t seem to get it right.
Horrible
This was gifted to me recently, I only had it for two days literally and it has already given me nothing but problems. When I first set up the camera everything was working perfectly, I accidentally unplugged the camera and now it doesn't want to connect to my WiFi. I try to the connect the camera for 2 hours straight trying to move the camera around to get a better signal but nope it will not connect. The crazy part is I even deleted the app and even deleted the account I made to see if that will work nope, then I even try to restart my router because I thought was the problem but of course that didn't work either. It's honestly frustrating I don't even want it anymore I'm extremely over it, it's definitely going back to the store first thing tomorrow.
Motion recording
I’ve only had the camera for 5 months and after month 3 the app doesn’t record clips anymore so there’s no playback I’ve tried refreshing the app and even uninstalling it and reinstalling it still nothing.
Glitchy
The camera is great, but when pulling up the controls to move the camera around, it ALWAYS freezes and I can’t close the panel for the controllers. I have to close the app completely out and reopen it. The notifications work perfectly and it’s very clear but the app needs work. It’s kinda glitchy and lags at times.
Broken Features
We bought this so that I, dad, could stay connected with my daughter while I worked out of state. Moving the camera works sometimes and my wife will have to power cycle the camera so that I can regain control of it. Forget turning the nightlight on or off, that doesn’t work. I don’t dare turn the music on because there’s a chance I’m not gonna have control to turn it off. as far as recording clips that it sees throughout the past 24 hours, I can’t access them because they “failed to load “. If I want to see something cool, I’ve got a three and four chance that that camera will be responsive to let me log into it, and I have to log into it the minute something cool happens.
Inconsistent and unreliable app monitoring
This app needs a lot of improvement. For the past week, it hasn’t been pushing notifications, the sleep analysis feature is broken, and it’s failing to record any sleep, wake, or cry notifications. I’ve tried everything, from factory resetting, unpairing the camera, resetting the system, and even deleting and reinstalling the app, but nothing works. Every time I log in, I get an "error contacting VTech server" message, despite having a stable internet connection. The issue clearly lies with the app and the servers. VTech team, if you check Reddit, you’ll see many others experiencing the same problems. I'm seriously considering switching to a different brand because VTech is proving to be unreliable.
