Bought content that never appeared-be careful

DesignMatersChess on

I paid for a specific magasine on the iphone app. The content never appeared and the app never recognised me / would allow me to login. So so disappointing

Excellent information & great travel hints.

Great Magazine.Terrible App

DITJ on

I have a print and digital subscription. It took me a month of emails to NG traveller to set up access to the app and then I had to contact Pocketmags as well. I now have access to Traveller but am still not receiving the NG food issues. I am now having the same problem with another magazine that I have a print and digital subscription for. The problem appears to be Pocket Mags. Publishers need to recognise that people buy digital and print subscriptions so they can read the print issue, dispose of it but still have access to past issues through the digital subscription.

Subscription refund required

mclxx on

It appears there is a new App. However as noted elsewhere it is impossible to retrieve new issues in the old App (the last was Dec 2018) and now impossible to ‘restore purchases’ in the new App. NG provided no notification of changes to their App and are pretty unreachable via support channels. I have been patient- these things are usually resolved but not this time. Overall a terrible experience and a complete waste of money: avoid.

Pants!

Complete rubbish. Been trying to load six years of subscriptions for the last two weeks. This works through pocket mags and it’s not a good mix. Will not buy any national geographic product ever again!

Beware! Price changes during purchase

girlwomble on

I love this magazine and it gives me great ideas for our next adventurous trip. However beware as price of magazine changes during the purchase and it's easy to get caught out and pay more than the stated cost at the start of purchase.

Disappointing

Not impressed Jan 2013 on

In such a crowded space I expect more from a brand with such heritage. At the very least could the product and editorial teams collaborate to present teaser content to inspire viewers? You just may generate more income! 👍

App is ok, the magazine is rubbish

3head on

It pains me to say this, but NG magazines have turned to absolute rubbish. The articles are about 15% of the content, and these are very short, not interesting and mostly advertise particular resorts. Another 5% - photographs. Not as good as they used to be, and definitely not as many as one would like to see in a travel magazine. The final 80% is the adverts. Adverts are everywhere, and they rule this magazine. There's so many adverts it's ridiculous. The app itself is ok, but it's pointless to have it when the content is so bad. Read online travel blogs, you'll save money and will find outa lot more about the world.

Always a good read

Deb-Travels on

This is the best travel publication & we'll put together. Informative, highly recommend.

Resolution is awful!

National geographic are renowned for their quality photos and graphics. This is little more than a scanned copy of the magazine..... Using an iPhone 5.
