Worst app I have on my iPad

Feeling scammed 2 on

Canada

Freezes, only portrait orientation, no landscape, difficult to easily find sections I’m looking for. Stories 3-4 days old continue to show up. I get more recent stories on my free Apple News app. Altogether the technologically weakest app on my iPad. The only saving grace is that the content, when I am able to find and access it is good. At this point I would not renew my subscription with this app in place. Fire your app developers please and create an app that works!

Good journalism, but…

App has lengthy ad prior to opening home page. It’s also extremely slow to scroll through articles. Journalism is very good.

The worst newspaper app I use

Drgoochmobile on

Canada

This is the worst newspaper app I use. Ever since some update a while ago, the headlines take a while to load and the scrolling is slow and wonky. To add to the aggravation, since about two weeks ago they force you to watch a commercial when you open the app. I am paying a hefty subscription fee as it is!

This App Bites

Dildoshwaggen on

I paid for a subscription to the Post. I keep getting advertisement pop ups sometimes 3x before I can actually read the news. When you hit horoscopes, it won’t actually open any of the horoscopes themselves. This app sucks. I will let my prepaid subscription run out at the end of the year and I’m done. What a shame.

Really poorly loading in app

TKT80 on

Canada

I’m so surprised to see this app not load all its stories. You scroll and get messages that the stories are loading. Sometimes they appear. Other times you get an error that they are not available. Really National Post? In 2024? How do you not have a normally functioning news app. Please do better!

New update is terrible

It was a pretty good app before the update. Now I don’t like it. I find it’s better to just go to the website and bookmark it. It’s essentially the same a the webpage now except u have to register to read certain articles but the webpage you don’t have to.

The loading scheme sucks

The mechanism for leading stories and ads is terrible, and always has me staring at “Loading stories…” messages. Go back to the old way.

Fairness

Discouraged to find this fine newspaper that I have enjoyed for so many years has chosen to support just one side in this disastrous conflict. The growing dislike for Israel and it’s culture is driven by It’s destruction of Gaza and now Lebanon with enormous loss of life. The United States joins Israel in it ‘s loss of favour, at least amongst my friends and associates although I cannot speak for others. With one side armed with F15s, tanks and satellite surveilance ,,seems like sticks and stones. Des Carpenter

National Post still believes in old fashioned journalism

Esther0 on

Canada

Particularly when reporting on the Middle East, the National Post is not afraid to provide context, to give background information to give enough facts so that a full picture emerges rather than mindlessly pandering to the left, which is what most legacy media does, among them, CBC, BBC, the Guardian, the New York Times, and yes,the Globe and Mail. Thank you, National Post.

App is a problem

bearbullbrian on

I can’t necessarily sign in on my iPad. It works in the National Post, but not in the Financial Post. Financial Post says it can’t verify my subscription. It’s a pain to do any reading.
