Bu uygulama İstanbul Sağlık ve Teknoloji Üniversitesi Sağlık Bilimleri Fakültesi Dekanı Beslenme ve Diyetetik Bölümü öğretim üyesi Prof. Dr. Özer Ergün tarafından her yaştan bilinçli tüketicinin faydalanması amacıyla geliştirilmiştir. Uygulamada 100 temel gıda alfabetik sıra ile "Gıda güvenliği riskleri ve Beslenme riskleri" yönünden renklerle derecelendirilerek kolay anlaşılabilecek bir şekilde kullanıcının bilgisine sunulmuştur.
Ne yediğimizi bilmemiz neden önemli? Çünkü, her yıl dünya üzerinde 500 bin civarında insan gıda zehirlenmeleri nedeniyle hayatını kaybetmektedir. Ayrıca sağlıksız ve yetersiz beslenme nedeniyle de milyonlarca insan cok çeşitli hastalıklara yakalanmaktadır. Bu nedenlerle sağlıklı gıda seçimi ve doğru beslenme bilgileri tüm dünyada her yaştan tüketicinin bilmesi gereken çok önemli bilgilerdir.
