Great game (I have this on the switch too and it’s great fun). The controls are amendable (swipe vs tap in certain areas of the screen, vs game pad style controls) and it is almost as good as the console version however it doesn’t play the music over Bluetooth headphones, so you either have to annoy anyone near you or try to guess when the beat is. If they could fix this issue it’d be 5 stars.
Bought the app and it just closes each time I open it! It gets to the touch screen to start page and then closes as soon as I touch the screen. Disappointed that I’ve paid for an app that I’ve not been able to run successfully even once!
I previously bought the original version. The description on this version says that this has all the features of the original version, yet I’m unable to play on the AppleTV! I feel cheated, as although great on the iPad, I can no longer plan on AppleTV. I’ve waited months since buying this (new) version and it’s still not available, hence this 1 star review. Please allow us Apple TV customers who have paid for BOTH versions to play on the AppleTV. Why can we only play the original on the big screen? Given the game genre, AirPlay is not ideal given the latency!
One of my first reviews on the App Store was for Crypt of the NecroDancer, which I still consider to be a must have-game for anyone! It’s a fun, engaging and addictive mash-up of roguelike rpgs & rhythm games in a fast-paced dance-to-the-beat-‘em-up and worth every penny. The real appeal of the game is the randomness of the encounters. Every game is different, and there always seems to be something new. There is a snag with CoTN: Amplified, though. It’s not just a prequel. It is the full CoTN game, but with more levels, more items, more characters more original music and more monsters. That’s a good thing, right? Not if you’ve paid for the original CoTN on the App Store, it isn’t. I don’t know why Brace Yourselves didn’t just update the original CoTN or put in an in-app purchase. Instead, there are 2 versions of the same game floating about on the App Store, and both have very hefty price tags. If you are going to buy this game (and I really recommend you do!) buy this version, and not the other original CoTN here on the App Store. You get everything in this version that the original CoTN contains anyway, but you get the prequel content too. Brace yourselves games should correct this problem. In the meantime, though, this is still a very worthy and fun unique game. You will not find anything else like it anywhere!
