NETGEAR VPN Reviews

Buggy

The vpn works great, but when I try to connect it buffers every time and I have to delete the app every time it happens.

Worthless

This use to be an ok VPN (no bounce) in the year years I had armor & vpn it served it’s purpose for the $100.00 a year. Now I’m absolutely shocked at the amount of privacy bleed that occurs and if you want VPN -with your VPN service! Then you have to pay an additional $59.00 or so dollars! Don’t waste your time. There are better services out there that are way more secure!!! Especially if you’re looking at paying almost $160 a year for the service.

Ridiculous.. just Ridiculous

Can’t believe Netgear would put their name on such a worthless VPN app which is supposed to integrate with the Armor app. Trash! I used to use Armor on my Nighthawk and other routers. I’ve found TP-Link Decos using Trend Micro (lifetime one price sub) is awesome. You lost several customers just from sitting and watching the cybersecurity world pass you by. I’m an IT admin and no longer recommend these products.

Ok the NETGEAR apps are easy

But problems with the interface and I have had multiple IoT devices that I configured while on the IoT network jumped onto the 6-5g network. I have had problems with my HomePods refusing to connect. You guys used to have a professional setup. I should be able to make my IoT network invisible along with the 5-6g. There’s tons of sleazy people in this world and they want to hack you through your IoT infrastructure. Not only that. You should be able to setup your WiFi ip range without going into the web. I hate to say this but guess what. I’m really disappointed that your interface is going backwards. I mean I had a NETGEAR router in early 2000 and it had more security settings than this app. Same with the decco interface. I thought I was getting a superior product for the price. Turns out it was a waste of money in the end. Thanks. If I was investing in your company I would demand that you Fire your executives. What a joke.

Will not work on Computers

Man o' Steel on

United States

After hours on the phone and emails to tech support, I learned today that if you buy this subscription from the Apple Store, your VPN will work only on iOS devices. Bitdefender will not give you the code to allow you to activate the VPN on your MacBook or other computer. I feel like I got ripped off. If I had bought the same subscription from Bitdefender using a computer, the subscription would cover all my devices. This limitation was never disclosed prior to the sale. Everything was “protect all your devices” and “total security “, but that was a lie. False advertising. Do not buy if you also want VPN for your computers.

Netgear promoter application

KShark66 on

I assumed it would integrate with my router and it would work smoothly. This prevents many applications to not work. For example, it blocks my Verizon app to not respond. Lots of no connections on other applications. Also. When I get home it prevents me from connecting to my Netgear Orbi router. I need to turn it off and turn on. Junk. Don’t waste your money.

More hassle than it’s worth

Causes more problems than it’s worth. Thought I was having problems with various WiFi networks and Apple CarPlay. Deleting this app fixed them all! Wish I could get a refund on the subscription
