For years the Neurio app worked. Sure it has some quirks but it did work. Generac for whatever reason seems as though they stripped the neurio product of features and left it now most recently no longer operation. Historical is now no longer working. As of today, can no longer get a working live wattage. The other generac PWRview app doesn’t function with the neurio at all. There are several options out there to self monitor the neurio system locally. All sensor values are alive and well in the device webpage, so I guess home assistant is how I’ll use this next. Would be awesome if generac would support the neurio product and put it back into a functional state.

It seems that Generac has severely decreased the performance of this application and service to the point of breaking it since purchasing it from Neurio. Is Generac phasing it out? If so I am considering switching to Sense. If this is an example of Generac commitment to quality, I must reconsider my intention to purchase additional products from Generac

The app for this product has went downhill substantially ever since Generac bought them out. 99% of the time you can’t see any of your historical data. when contacting support they tell you to log out and log back into your account. That never works and definitely not a solution for an ongoing issue. classic planned obsolescence at play. It’s more and more painful to get the data out of the device.

The app is the bare-bones basic and really doesn’t offer a full perspective of how your system is operating. We’re struggling to get the tariff information updated and have been told that Generac does not include OPPD yet in their systems. You would expect for a system of this cost that the app would allow you to switch modes remotely on the power panel and monitor and control load shedding options for the system. Some investment to improve the app would certainly result in happier customers.

App hasn’t been updated in ages. History tab no longer works. No push notifications work any longer. Generac bought out Neurio but it’s clear they don’t intend on investing anymore in the product other than adding their name to the app. Only gives the basic usage information currently. I wouldn’t buy any Generac products based on this type of experience.

I’ve used this app since it was owned by Neurio. It used to be great. Now it doesn’t work most of the time. It can’t load current data 80% of the time, and can’t load the history view now 99% of the time. Something is broken and they aren’t fixing it. Please fix it! Also, they still haven’t updated to fit the iPhone 11 or newer screen size, and that phone came out years ago.

Poor quality and reliability

Having owned and used some other brands power monitor kit (sw & hw) I had relatively high hopes for this, but what a disappointment PWRview has been. I’ve got two of these in my home (2 transfer switch system) and haven’t seen a more buggy and unreliable system in a long time. This app is trash, plain and simple. Never could get two of the sensors to work in a single view (or any view for that matter). I’ll honestly rip the hole thing and replace it with a purpose-built and reliable monitoring package. Avoid PWRview, it’s poorly designed, buggy, slow, and just plain trash.

Generac bought neurio, a mediocre startup with good hardware and mediocre app, removed features, made zero improvements, somehow made the app even slower and more useless, and clearly doesn’t care about existing or future users in this space. The app is total crap, works half the time, and website is still just as bad. Obviously, don’t buy this hardware anymore if you’re looking - try a different product with better functionality and app. If you already have a neurio, great - you’ll get to see usage most of the time hopefully. But don’t expect much else. Or literally anything else.

Generac does not seem to care about quality

Generac is completely aware of issues with this app, I have spoken to them about it. They give it lip service and say they will fix, but they don’t even try as can be seen by frequency of releases. It’s probably safe to assume that if they don’t care about the quality of the app they probably also don’t care about the quality of their generators, so I will find another brand that cares. Very disappointed. Seriously it’s amazing that a major brand simply does not care about the propensity of one star reviews. Unbelievable.
