It's all in the content....?
It was a pleasant surprise to discover the iPad app 'New Republic'. As a life long English Socialist, now living in Thailand, I have often thought of 'apps' as excuses for money grabbing shysters. Consequently I was pleased to discover the app whilst reading the Guardian online. (Yet another thank you to that publication) Good content, thought provoking articles, such as the recent one on 'Loneliness' , means that I will happily look forward to each edition.
Superior navigation
Very well designed. Pages swipe downwards through an article and across for the next piece. With little need to peck around the screen, I can concentrate on the content.

Be careful
This app doesn't recognise my iPad subscription from the previous app and so I've lost access to my back issues. It won't let me sign-in, won't let me retrieve my password and I can't get a response from their customer support. I think they are trying to direct people to the print version and away from the tablet
