Nightmares TCG Reviews

Fun and expansive

A lot of room for maladaptive daydreaming. Good mechanics, not clunky

Lots of potential for more in game.

The game is great, it has fun cards and artwork for them, there are some fun features to the game, it focuses on a theme that you don’t see much, and also it has its own unique game mechanics to stand out from other ccgs (the sanity mechanic for example). I would say the main reason the game isn’t pulling in a ton of players right now is possibly because the game itself isn’t very flashy or visually appealing as some other mobile ccgs/tcgs, like MTG: Arena. Don’t get me wrong I like the design and such, but it still isn’t on the winning side with most of the players, so I mean if you wanted to improve the game, pull in more players, etc. I suggest adding maybe some minor animation for the cards, maybe some changes on the way some items or backgrounds look. Besides the idea of pulling in more things to pull in people, some things that I personally would like in the game are more packs, cards, more different factions (I don’t have anything wrong with the first three factions I just like lots of different stuff to do in a game.) idk maybe a story? Either way these are just possible suggestions for the game.

Aweful

Everything looks terrible. All decks have the same theme basically. The cards look like washed mtg cards. The background has debth which makes it hard to look at the cards on it. Want to play anything but a crazy person? Too bad insanity is the only power. It’s hard to control because nothing is explained and everything is too close together. It’s difficult to even view the cards and I still don’t know how you attack. This game is exceptionally bad

Packs cost too much. I haven’t pulled a single abyssal or deep or undead card, but I pull all the other colors from packs, like the game is intentionally not giving me cards for the decks I use. The campaign is too difficult, basically making it unplayable for free to play. The tutorial needs to be longer, because the clthulu starting and blue color decks are the weakest compared to literally every single other deck. A tutorial that lets you play using all the other decks would be nice so people can make a more informed decision before the screw themselves over. A lot of the mechanics in the campaign don’t work. The intimidate mechanic barely works, since whenever I face against it, I can’t defend against those monsters, but when I use them, everyone can defend against them, but for some reason it won’t let me but defenders against those monsters. SO many issues. Please. PLEASE. Word on them, because this game has a lot of potential, and despite my 1 star emotional review, I do enjoy this game. It scratches the itch I have. But it’s SO frustrating. Its like you didn’t even test it for bugs or issues or balancing. Its WILD. Im gonna still play in hopes it gets better and yall are still updating and working on things. But man do these issues need to be addressed.

Recant

I’m recanting my previous statement and giving this trading card game five stars. For several reasons, I am doing this. to start the developer was quick and their response to solve the issue and is also knowledgeable of their product. as a client of this service, I am impressed at the mechanics of the game though challenging. However, to have nightmare creatures is awesome and I’ll add that the similarity between magic also brings me closer to this game.

Great New CCG in Development

Really like the game! It has a neat feature in the Sanity system. The art is good- the factions play styles are familiar feeling with their own unique twist. The game definitely feels like a development project right now. The UI is very basic, and the card pools don’t feel very big for each faction. I am excited to see a little more polish applied to the title :)

AMAZING!!!

An absolutely stunning game! An incredible gem, this should be an editors pick easily! If you like or have grown up playing Magic, or Vampire the masquerade or similar TCG’s you owe it to yourself to try this game. The artwork (and theme of) is what drew me in and, …WOW! Not only an amazing job visually but the music is just as stunning! Gameplay is fantastic, simple enough to load and get a quick game in, with enough nuance and complexity for themes and combinations that I’m still discovering and that’s just with the base card set! This brings back memories like of the early years of tcg’s before tons of rules and errata and there was always something new and fun to discover each time. It’s hard to describe just how well thought out and fluid the game mechanics are even some established games don’t necessarily translate well onto the screen (looking at you Magic! lol) Another reviewer had mentioned that if this were a physical set they would but it (100% agree!) I mention this bc it almost seems as if it was an established game that was ported over! The passion the creator/devs have is shown in not just the constant improvements but are super responsive, they took the time to help me with a problem I had with my account and a bug I mentioned was fixed in the next update just a couple of days later! I hope this game blows up and they find much success! I only wish I could tell more people to try this out You Will Not Be Disappointed!!

Better than I expected

As someone also working on a tcg lol this game is the perfect and despite the simplicity is very fun. Really like the mechanic of only twelve rounds!

A lot of promise.

So, upon checking the game out, I dig many of the rules of the game. Seems very stream lined, the art is amazing, and it’s easy enough to pick up but hard to figure out exactly what is the best thing to go with (I like that in a game). Right now, not getting anything except changing artwork while waiting for a match (even a timer would be nice), I’d imagine lack of players currently, no way to see what the other cards do (card lists or something similar would help this, and give players something to strive for. On top of that, I have currency, but don’t know what cards are in what packs, so no information to base purchases on) All in all, it feels like there needs to be cleaning up of the client, a bit more information about the cards…but the game feels very solid, and I’m very impressed for a team of two people. Were this to be released in physical form, I’d likely purchase quite a bit of it, and get others into it. Update- have played more, and been able to see the card list online. I feel like this game has tons of promise, and can’t wait to see how it progresses.
